Yangliuqing Town, with a thousand-year cultural heritage, is a historic town in northern China and one of the four famous towns in China. In 2005, CCTV won the title of "Famous Town with Chinese Charm Culture Heritage" in the first "Famous Town with Chinese Charm" selection. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Yangliuqing was the distribution center of folk art in northern China, and the Yangliuqing New Year Picture, the first of the four woodcut New Year Pictures in China, was born. The famous Yangliuqing kite, paper-cutting, Yangliuqing brick carving and folk flower show were also temporary wonders. Yangliuqing is rich in folk culture. The old theater, archway and Wenchang Pavilion in the town are called the Three Treasures of Yangliuqing, and Wenchang Pavilion still exists today. In the Qing Dynasty, there were more than 40 famous Chongwen Academy and ancient temples in Jinmen, and there are still ruins of Puliang Pagoda, Hongji and Baitan Temple. Shi Jia quadrangles located in the town in the late Qing Dynasty are famous in North China for their magnificent scale and gorgeous architecture. These cultural sites, together with the quaint streets of the Qing Dynasty, Sihe dwellings and ancient canal scenery, constitute a beautiful picture scroll of Yangliuqing. Yangliuqing Town, located in Xiqing District of Tianjin, is the most prosperous place in Xiqing District. Now, Yangliuqing holds folk cultural activities on the 15th day of the first month every year, with fireworks and a large-scale light show at night. Visitors around Shi Jia Courtyard and Yangliuqing Square can see all kinds of large-scale landing lanterns in the street, including the style of Yangliuqing New Year pictures, the style of 24 filial piety pictures with classical themes, the style of cartoon characters, the style of hanging money and happy characters, and all kinds of lanterns emerge one after another, which are different every year.
