What is the history of the Red Army crossing the Jinsha River?
The story of crossing Jinsha River:

After the Red Army crossed Chishui four times and marched into Yunnan, if it failed to cross the Jinsha River, it would be pushed into a narrow valley by the Kuomintang army, which was in danger of being wiped out by the whole army.

On the evening of April 29th, 1935, Mao Zedong personally deployed Red Army soldiers to divide into three roads and ran to the four major ferries, namely, Orange Tree Ferry, Longjie Ferry, Hongmen Ferry and Jiaoping Ferry, among which the task of the cadre regiment directly under the Central Revolutionary Military Commission was to seize Jiaoping Ferry.

After the cadre regiment accepted the task of robbing Jiaoping Ferry, Colonel Chen Geng ordered the second battalion and the fifth company commander to be younger: the central authorities decided that our army would cross the Jinsha River in the north and ordered our regiment to undertake the task of robbing the ferry. Our regiment also decided to take Battalion 2 as the advance detachment and your Company 5 as the vanguard company. Your task is: grab the ferry quickly at all costs and cover the follow-up troops crossing the river.

Battalion 2 and Battalion 5, led by company commander Xiao, crossed mountains and reached Jiaopingdu on the evening of May 3rd 1935.

The sky is hazy, and from a distance, you can only see the dark mountains lying in front of you, and you can't tell where trees are and where stones are. In front of the mountain shadow, the Jinsha River is spread out like a gray cloth, and it is widely distributed there, and it is also unclear which is the river and which is the beach. In the middle of the connection between the mountain and the river, a little light shines, as if the enemy's eyes were spying on the Red Army.

When the Red Army brigade marched into the Jinsha River, Chiang Kai-shek woke up from his dream and suddenly realized that the Red Army "must cross the Jinsha River" and hurriedly ordered to control the ferry, sweeping out all the ships on the other side, destroying the ship and sealing the river. In Jiaopingdu, the Sichuan army crossed all the captured ships, cut off cross-strait traffic, and constantly sent plainclothes detectives to explore the situation.

When the avant-garde reconnaissance team of No.2 Battalion and No.5 Company arrived in Jiaopingdu, they found that the boat that sent plainclothes detectives across the river was parked by the river, but these spies did not know where to go. A boatman thought it was a plainclothes detective who came back and asked, "Come back?"

The avant-garde reconnaissance team casually said, "Come back!" Then a few steps up, aiming at the boatman.

Tang Ying, the company commander, rushed to the river to comfort the trembling boatmen and ask them about the other side. It turns out that the town over there is not big, and a tax-collecting Lijin Bureau has thirty or forty security guards. This morning, another Sichuan Army Company came and lived on the right side of the town. There is a stone pier by the river in the center of town. There are often security guards on the dock. Recently, I added another one because I was nervous.

Although the Sichuan Army is afraid of the Red Army crossing the river, it thinks that Jiaoping Ferry is not the main ferry, and the Red Army will not come so fast, so the defense is not very strict.

The company commander Tang Ying immediately ordered one or two rows to cross the river with him, and three rows stood guard by the river. If the ships crossing the river are changed, there will be fire support at any time.

The two wooden boats untied the ropes in tandem and left the shore.

It was a breezy night. On the river more than 300 meters wide, the waves rolled downstream in a hurry, and the wooden boat was rocked up and down by the waves. Several Red Army soldiers were helping the boatman paddle, while others leaned together and held their guns tightly to prevent splashing foam from wetting them.

As we got closer and closer to the shore, the outline of the town was clearly seen, and the lights in the windows were brighter. Occasionally I can see the narrowest figure and hear people shouting.

When the ship landed, two Red Army soldiers went ashore and quickly walked up the stone steps. Only a hoarse voice with a Yunnan accent asked, "Hello! What's the matter with you? Just come back. " The two soldiers didn't answer, and then they heard a deep and stern cry: "Freeze!" " "Two security guards were captured in the chaos.

When the company commander asked about the prisoners, the situation was the same as that of the boatman, so he ordered a platoon to go to the street to fight the right Sichuan Army and the second platoon to fight the left security team.

According to the scheduled plan, Tang Ying ordered the correspondent to collect some thatch and burn it by the river, and reported to the other side that the Red Army had successfully crossed the river.

The fire soon caught fire, and the river was flushed with trembling red light.

A platoon soon arrived at the gate of Sichuan Army Company, and the sentry shouted, "Who?" At this time, the prisoner who was well taught by the Red Army replied: "One of our own! Security team. " When the Sichuan army wanted to ask anything again, it was immediately caught by the avant-garde class.

After asking about the situation, the whole platoon entered the yard, ran to several houses separately, kicked the door and shouted, "Don't kill me!" " "Who knows that when the door was kicked open, the room was full of smoke and the aroma was fragrant. It turned out that the Sichuan army was smoking by the small lamp. Hearing this cry, the Sichuan army held its head high at first, then slowly raised its hands and said doubtfully, "We just arrived today, don't get me wrong!" The Red Army soldier said, "Don't worry! I can't get it wrong, we are the Red Army, and we are here for you! "

In this way, Jiaopingdu Ferry was cleverly captured by the Red Army.

A boat can only cross 15 Red Army at a time, and the ferry is obviously not enough. Zhang Chaoman, a 22-year-old boatman, helped the Red Army find five boats and mobilized 36 boatmen to help the Red Army cross the river. And his big ship can ferry 60 Red Army soldiers at a time.

In crossing the river, because the boat is small, it is difficult to bear the jumping and jumping of horses. Mao Zedong had an idea: drive the horse into the water and tie the reins to the side of the boat. People cross the river by boat, and horses swim with the boat.

From May 3 to 9, during seven days and seven nights, the main force of the Red Army crossed the Jinsha River with these seven boats, once again breaking the siege plan of the Kuomintang, and then getting rid of the containment of hundreds of thousands of Kuomintang troops.

Two days later, the Kuomintang troops arrived at the south bank. However, the Red Army has destroyed the ship and closed the river, far away.

Jinsha River is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It runs through the deep mountains and narrow valleys along the Sichuan-Yunnan border, with a wide river surface and big waves. If the Red Army can't get through, it will be pushed into the deep mountains and narrow valleys by the enemy, and it will be in danger of being wiped out by the whole army. When the Red Army marched on the Jinsha River, Chiang Kai-shek woke up like a dream and decided that the destination of the Red Army was neither Guiyang nor Kunming, but "there is no doubt that it will cross the Jinsha River".

On April 28th, 1935, he ordered to control the ferry, destroy the ship and close the river. On the eve of the Red Army's arrival in Jinsha River, the enemy along the river has swept all the ships to the north bank.
