The Dance Origin of Chun 'an Bamboo Horse
Chun 'an bamboo horse has a history of hundreds of years. At the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty, bamboo and horse in Chun 'an changed little, and almost all of them were a kind of Han folk activity with sacrifice as the main part. At that time, Jiaoling's villages such as Mao Ping, Jiangjia, Panjiadian, Qingmiaoling and Maolingshang were full of crops and vaulted horses every year (also called vault locally). Tiaozhuma are all made of paper, burning red candles. Generally, it is posted on February 24th of the lunar calendar (called off-year locally), jumping out on the first day of the first month, and burning horses on the 17th of the first month. When burning a horse, one person first reads colored characters in the shape of a Taoist on the door of the ancestral hall. After reading a paragraph, he ran out of the house and was called "closing the horse". Then, tear off the colored paper attached to the horse shell and burn it with the red envelope paper. There is not a scrap of paper left. At the same time, let the racers dress up as Zhong Kui, Taoist Wang, and so on. Any red envelope money in the vault can't be divided, and it will be used to buy paper horses that will go out next year.

In the early Qing Dynasty, the bamboo horses in Chun 'an only jumped, and the performers did not read or sing, so the form was monotonous. Chun 'an bamboo horse had new improvement and development during Kangxi period. At this time, the vault is not just dancing. When vaulting horses, performers often read some words (local dialect), such as "bamboo horse jumping, vault, bamboo horse jumping into the village, good weather, safe and sound;" Bamboo horse jumps, bamboo horse jumps, bamboo horse jumps back to the hall, and Fu Lushou is happy with his family; Tiaozhuma, Tiaozhuma, Tiaozhuma three times, live happily for thousands of years; Jump on the bamboo horse, jump on the bamboo horse, jump on the bamboo horse and live to ninety-nine ... "At this time, all the men, women and children on the sidelines cheered loudly, and some even set off firecrackers while scattering candy and copper coins. After the jump, the host will give the performers red envelopes to win prizes and take lucky photos.

During the light years from Kangxi to Daoguang (1662- 1850), Chun 'an's bamboo and horse performance took another big step forward. At this time, the bamboo horse began to infiltrate with the two-legged play (the predecessor of the three-legged play), which was called "the two-legged play bamboo horse class" for short. That is to say, once an ugly character and two characters perform a little play together on the same stage, it is called "two-legged bamboo and horse class", which not only laid the foundation for the emergence and development of Chun 'an wooden drama, but also changed the scattered, chaotic and mixed situation of Chun 'an bamboo and horse, making Chun 'an bamboo and horse gradually form an organized performance group. Because, before it evolved into a "two-legged bamboo horse class", the vault was mainly based on sacrifice, while the organized "two-legged bamboo horse class" was mainly based on performance, supplemented by sacrifice, which made the bamboo horse in Chun' an undergo a qualitative change.

By the end of the Qing Dynasty, the "two-legged bamboo and horse class" had developed into a "three-legged bamboo and horse class". "Three-legged bamboo horse class" is the transition and extension of "Two-legged bamboo horse class". Three-legged bamboo horse class is a kind of performance with vault, which is performed by Jian, Dan and Ugly Triangle on the same stage, so it is called "Three-legged bamboo horse class".
