The historical turning point of the mass line
Under the ruling conditions, especially in the new historical period of reform and opening up, it is of special significance for China to adhere to the party's style of close contact with the masses. We should oppose all tendencies to be divorced from the masses, especially bureaucracy and corruption, because this will put the party in a dangerous situation of being divorced from the masses. The report of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out: "Adhere to the historical materialism that the people are the creators of history, serve the people wholeheartedly, adhere to the mass line, sincerely listen to the voices of the masses, truly reflect the wishes of the masses, truly care about their sufferings, and do more good deeds and practical things for the masses, so that power can be used by the people, affection can be attached to them, and interests can be made for them." In accordance with the requirements of the report of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, we should inherit and carry forward the Party's fine style of keeping close contact with the masses, serve the people wholeheartedly, and always keep the Party in close contact with the masses.

Close contact with the masses is the embodiment of our party's purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, and it is also the embodiment of the basic principle of historical materialism that the masses are historical creators. Adhere to close ties with the masses, oppose dogmatism, empiricism, commandism, tailism, sectarianism, bureaucracy and arrogance, and never be divorced from the masses; Adhere to close ties with the masses, * * * people must love the masses, be good at listening to their voices and become one with them; Adhere to close ties with the masses, * * * people must be good at inspiring and improving the consciousness of the masses, helping the masses to organize and carry out all necessary struggles for environmental permission. Adhering to close ties with the masses requires that all people's words and deeds must take the best interests of the overwhelming majority of the people and their support as the highest standards.

In the long-term revolutionary struggle, China adhered to the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly and established flesh-and-blood ties and fish-water relations with the broad masses of the people. Summing up this experience, Mao Zedong put forward the work style of keeping close contact with the masses in the 1942 Yan 'an rectification movement.
