Zhang Zizhong was never a traitor.

Zhang Zizhong, 189 1 1, a native of Linqing, Shandong. He used to be the commander-in-chief of the right-wing army and the 33 rd army in the fifth theater of the Kuomintang and was awarded the rank of second-class general.

Zhang Zizhong is a famous anti-Japanese general and national hero in China. Participated in famous battles such as Linyi Defence War, Xuzhou Battle, Wuhan Battle, etc. 1940 died in Xiangyang's battle with the Japanese army.

Although Zhang Zizhong was a famous Kuomintang general, after the founding of New China, the Central People's Government of China ratified Zhang Zizhong as a revolutionary martyr. In 2009, Zhang Zizhong was also named 100 hero model who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China.

Besides the famous Zhang Zizhong Road, there is also the former residence of General Zhang Zizhong. Beijing Hutong said that he had a former residence in Guangmingdian Hutong, south of Xi 'anmen Street in Xicheng District, Beijing. However, before the street was widened, it was called Dongyizi Hutong and Xiyizi Hutong, and General Zhang's former residence was here.

Zhang's niece, who lived with General Zhang since childhood, founded a primary and secondary school in her former residence 1947. When Fu You Street was widened, Dongjiezi Hutong was demolished, and the East Courtyard of General Zhang's former residence in Xijiezi Hutong was also demolished. Fortunately, the bedroom, study and bathroom where General Zhang lived were all left behind.

According to textual research, in June of 1946, Feng Yuxiang proposed to choose three roads or gates in Peiping to commemorate three generals, namely Tong, Zhao and Zhang Zizhong, who happened to be the old subordinates of General Feng.

A month later, the Provisional Senate of Beiping submitted a proposal requesting the municipal government to implement the naming scheme. Probably to promote the implementation of the naming scheme, Feng Yuxiang initiated it in the name of the vice chairman of the Kuomintang Military Commission.
