Brief introduction of Wuhan
Wuhan, referred to as Jiangcheng for short, is the capital of Hubei Province, the only sub-provincial city and mega-city in six central provinces, the central city in Central China, an important industrial base, science and education base and comprehensive transportation hub in China.
Wuhan is a national historical and cultural city and an important birthplace of Chu culture. Since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Wuhan has been the military and commercial center of southern China. The name of Jiangcheng began in Sui and Tang Dynasties. Li Bai, a poet in Tang Dynasty, once wrote that "the Jade Emperor blows the Yellow Crane Tower, and plum blossoms fall into Jiangcheng in May", so Wuhan has been called Jiangcheng since ancient times. Since the Yuan Dynasty, it has become a province, and in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has become the "first prosperous place in Chu" and one of the four places in the world.
