This park is rich in cultural relics. It used to be a Buddhist holy place during the Yan and Liao Dynasties, with the earliest recorded Buddhist temple in Northeast China, Niuheliang Hongshan Culture Site. Among them, the Statue of Goddess, Jade Pig Dragon, Goddess Temple, Jishi Tomb and Altar Site were unearthed, which advanced the history of China civilization by more than 1000 years. Geopark is an ideal base for leisure, tourism and popular science education, which integrates humanities, history, scenery and geological relics. Among them, Chaoyang Bird Fossil National Geopark has a total area of 2,300 square kilometers and a core area of 207 square kilometers.
