Wuxiang County is located at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain, in the southeast of Shanxi Province, in the northernmost part of Changzhi City, with the east longitude of 1 12026' to 1 13022'. 36039 to 37008 north latitude. It is adjacent to Licheng and Zuo Quan in the east; Qixian and Pingyao in the west; It is connected to Yushe in the north, Xiangyuan in the south and Qinxian in the southwest. On the plan, the total length of the border line is 287 kilometers. The east-west length of the county is 150km, and the shortest distance from north to south is 10km. Wuxiang county has convenient transportation. Taijiao Railway, National Highway 208 and Taichang Highway run through the north and south. Wumo Railway, Qinshe Highway and Ma Quan Highway run through the east and west. At present, the total length of highways in the county is 457 kilometers, including 24 kilometers of National Highway1(Wuxiang Section of National Highway 208), 2 provincial highways (Wuxiang Section of Qin Nan Highway 67.27 1 km, Wuxiang Section of Taichang Highway 30 km), 97.27 1 km of county roads and 8 county roads (Ma Quan Line and Taichang Highway). Wuxiang County has an area of 470,000 mu of cultivated land, 850,000 mu of barren hills suitable for forest, and the forest coverage rate is 16%. The territory is rich in underground resources, mainly coal, iron, oil, limestone, bauxite, diatomite and so on. The proven coal reserves in the eastern region are 65.438+0.44 billion tons, and the coalfield area of the county is 654.38+0.28 square kilometers, which are distributed in 9 towns such as Murphy, Hongshui, Guang Zhi, Yaowan, Panlong, Shimen, Donggou, Hanbei and Zhangjian. 1.987 was listed as national 1.007 by the State Council. Oil shale reserves140,000 tons, mainly distributed in Yongquan, Chengguan, Shibei and other towns.
