Historical evolution:
Hailing used to be called Luozhou, also known as Luodao (or Luozhou, Luozhou). That's because its terrain is like a horizontal conch shell. Later, with the change of geography, Hailing gradually rose from the sea and became a veritable "mountain in the sea" with endless vision. This is called Hailing. Guyang River belongs to Songkang County (around 432 AD) and is called Hailing Mausoleum (county). According to historical records, Hailing Island has been regarded as a coastal military fortress since the Ming Dynasty.
After the Opium War, while renting Hong Kong Island, the British government proposed to lease Hailing Island, which was not approved by the China government. Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the pioneer of the democratic revolution, also put forward the idea of developing Hailing into a commercial port in the general plan of founding the country. On June 8th, 1992, with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's Government, Hailing Island Economic Development Experimental Zone was established. There are two towns in Hailing Island, Hailing and zhapo. In August 2008, Jiangcheng District was in charge of Hailing Experimental Zone, and Hailing Island was under its jurisdiction.
