1954, Shanxi Metallurgical Industry Technical School was renamed Taiyuan Iron and Steel Industry School of the Ministry of Heavy Industry of the Central People's Government;

1956, Taiyuan Architectural Engineering School of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry was established;

65438-0957 Taiyuan Iron and Steel Industry School of the Ministry of Heavy Industry of the Central People's Government merged with Taiyuan Construction Engineering School of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry to form Taiyuan Metallurgical Industry School of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry;

1958, Taiyuan Metallurgical Industry School of Ministry of Metallurgy was renamed Shanxi Metallurgical Industry School;

1959, Shanxi Metallurgical Industry School was upgraded to Shanxi Metallurgical Industry Institute;

1960, Shanxi Institute of Metallurgical Industry was transformed into Shanxi Institute of Metallurgical Industry;

1962, Shanxi Metallurgical Industry Institute was transformed into Taiyuan Metallurgical Industry School;

1969, cancelled by Taiyuan Metallurgical Industry School;

1973, Taiyuan Metallurgical Industry School resumed classes;

1978, Taiyuan university of technology (metallurgical specialized course) merged (joint office);

1August, 980, the school was named "National Key Middle School" by the Ministry of Education.

1April, 1993, was named as "provincial key middle school" by Shanxi Provincial People's Government;

June 1994, named as "National Key Middle School" by the State Education Commission;

1999, enrolling higher vocational students in the name of "Vocational and Technical College of Taiyuan University of Technology";

In 2000, due to the reform of government institutions, Shanxi Metallurgical Industry Department was abolished, and the school was affiliated to Shanxi Education Department.

In April of 200 1 year, with the approval of Shanxi provincial people's government, the school was upgraded to "Shanxi Engineering Vocational and Technical College";

In 2004, as the first and only pilot college in Shanxi Province, the College successfully passed the evaluation and achieved excellent results.

In 2007, he was selected as the "National Model Higher Vocational College Construction Plan";
