With the development of the Internet, more and more teachers put their curriculum framework, class notes and reading lists on the Internet for students to browse, and use communication tools such as e-mail to communicate with students. Since then, the demand for online teaching has been increasing, and some colleges and companies have begun to develop professional online teaching application systems, mainly to help schools develop teaching resources. Later, the function was further improved to support the management of online teaching activities. Generally speaking, these online education platforms are all around the development and management of resources and the development of online education platforms, and have gone through four stages of development. The first stage: Content Management System (CMS). In the early days of the development of network technology, some universities, famous companies and some training institutions began to purposefully develop professional online teaching resource banks for storing and managing teaching resources, thus saving costs, enabling learners to choose the provided network resources for autonomous learning and broadening the ways of knowledge dissemination. However, the function is limited to resource management, lacking relevant standards, inconsistent resource formats and low level of resource enjoyment. The second stage: Learning Management System (LMS). Originally from the education and training automation management system, it generally provides functional modules such as online registration of learners, list management of teaching resources, user information management, data recording and statistics of learning process, but it cannot realize the function of generating learning content. The third stage: Learning Content Management System (LCMS). In order to facilitate teachers and course resource experts who have no technical foundation to design, generate, publish, manage and maintain network courseware, and for teaching staff to track and count students' learning process, LCMS system is designed and developed. LCMS makes it possible to enjoy learning content and interact with teaching. The fourth stage: network-based teaching platform. For example, on the basis of the original teaching system, the online education platform of university of international business and economics Distance Education College integrates the main subsystems needed for online teaching, from comprehensive support to the teaching process (courseware making and publishing, teaching organization, teaching interaction, learning support and teaching evaluation), to the organization and management of teaching (management of users and courses), and then to the integration with online teaching resource database and its management system, thus constructing a relatively complete online teaching support environment.
