Datang Group, the full name of which is China Datang Group Co., Ltd., was established on February 29, 2002. It is a state-owned super-large energy enterprise directly managed by the central government, and its main business covers six major sectors: electricity, coal, finance, overseas, coal chemical industry and energy services.

Datang Group includes 5 listed companies, 38 regional companies and professional companies, with a total of 95,000 employees. The five listed companies are: the first enterprise in China listed in London, the first power enterprise listed in Hong Kong-Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd., Datang Huayin Power Co., Ltd. and Guangxi Guiguan Power Co., Ltd., which were listed earlier in China. China Datang Group New Energy Co., Ltd. and Datang Environmental Industry Group Co., Ltd. are listed in Hong Kong.
