Village by the sea
Dongchu Island Village is surrounded by the sea on three sides. In winter, it often gets dark after four o'clock here. When the lights were on in Beijing, everyone just got off work and started a noisy nightlife, the village at the easternmost tip of Shandong Peninsula was already silent.

The only spacious avenue in the village is the sea at first sight. When you look back, it's still the sea. Some people say that the most beautiful pastoral poem is not "picking chrysanthemums under the east fence and seeing Nanshan leisurely", but "a cow on 30 acres of farmland, and his wife and children are hot on the kang", although it is unrealistic to sit on 30 acres of farmland in this small village. But the feeling of being a farmer is easy to realize here, relying on mountains to eat mountains and relying on the sea to eat the sea. Since ancient times, farmers have taken from nature and returned to nature, forming this harmonious environment of the trinity of heaven, earth and man. Of course, there is a day, a sea and people here.

20 14 10/month, 1 1, I came to Dongchu Island Village. Yes, it's not Dongji Island, and it's far from the island literature and art called "See you later". The purpose of coming here is also official business, taking a video team to shoot seaweed houses and a group of volunteers to investigate seaweed houses. The seaweed house is not only here, but also a characteristic residence in Rongcheng, Shandong Province.

The teacher of the peer newspaper said that the seaweed houses in Dongchu Island and even Weihai originated in the Ming Dynasty, when the soldiers who came here to guard the border lived here for generations. Most of these soldiers are from Shanxi. I think we have long forgotten what kind of mood they feel when standing on the vast sea.

There are two most popular names in the village, Wang Hebi.

The family we photographed is surnamed Wang. Grandma Wang goes out to catch a big gathering once a month, saying that it is a big gathering. In fact, there are only a dozen people and four or five cars pulling all kinds of goods, but it also makes the central square of the village lively. There is also an auditorium in the square, but it seems to have been abandoned for a long time. With the seafood company, the government in the village seems to have the feeling that the village head is leading the villagers to get rich. But in fact, as a relatively backward village nearby, most of Dongchudao Village are old people and children, and young people have long gone out to work. Therefore, the village is inevitably desolate.

Grandpa Wang works in the kelp factory in the village. He said: "The young people have gone out, and those who come to the factory are working in other places. I am going to work." At the age of 72, he went out to the kelp factory at two o'clock in the morning. Just as he was talking to me, he put on protective clothing: "It's all seawater. You have to wear this, or your clothes will be soaked."

Uncle Wang went out and left a foreigner like me in this small yard without any bad feelings. The seaweed house in the yard has a history of 300 years. Modern TV and cable TV can't hide this historical flavor, swaying in the slightly fishy sea breeze, and the ceiling is covered with algae, which is an unspeakable tranquility.
