Lingshui Li Autonomous County is located in the southeast of Hainan Island, and its geographical coordinates are 18 22'~ 18 47' north latitude and109 45' ~10 08' east longitude. It borders the South China Sea in the east, Sanya in the south, Baoting County in the west, Wanning City and Qiongzhong County in the north. Lingshui County is a city and county with a large population of Li, Han and Miao.

Lingshui Li Autonomous County has a long history. As early as the Neolithic Age, there were ancestors. Tanghu's land has been handed over to the south for three generations, and it was paid by Xiangxiang County in Qin and Wei Dynasties and Zhaner County in Han Dynasty. In the first year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty (BC 1 10), the Han army set up wasteland, and set up Zhu Ya and Zhan Counties in Hainan Island, leading sixteen counties, and Lingshui belonged to Shannan County of Zhu Ya County.
