The Historical Evolution of Laolai Town
The resident of Laolai Town, formerly known as "Kamuni Kauflo", means "Tong" in Manchu. "Lao Lai" evolved from the "Li Lulu" sound of Lulu River. In the early Qing Dynasty, a post station was set up from Qiqihar to Heilongjiang City, and in 1685 (the 24th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi), Kamunika Station (now Laolai) was set up, under the management of General Buzha. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Nehe Zhili Guild Hall. During the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of the first district of Nehe County. After the fall of Northeast China, in May of 1937, the Ningnen (Ningnian to Nenjiang) railway was completed, and a station was set up by the Laolai River, so it was renamed Laolai Village. This used to be an anti-Japanese guerrilla zone. 1945 After the victory of "September 3rd" in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, 1946 established Laolai District, 1949 divided it into fourteen districts, and changed it to Laolai District in May 1955. 1April, 956, Laolai Town was established. 1958 changed its name to Shengli people's commune in September. 1March 959, changed to Laolai People's Commune. 1April, 984, changed to Laolai Town.
