Red Capital and Nangong —— Fuyang Daily and Nangong
Zhang

Fuyang Daily was the organ newspaper of the Second District Committee of Jinan during the Anti-Japanese War, and it was also the substitute newspaper of the Second District after Jinan Daily, the organ newspaper of the Party Committee of Jinan, was forced to stop publishing in April 1942.

No one can study the revolutionary struggle and the history of the Anti-Japanese War in southern Hebei without Fuyang Daily, and neither can the study of Fuyang Daily without Nangong. Because the newspaper was first published in Taijiazhuang, Xinhe County in early April, 1942, and finally published in Xiaoshiba Village, Nangong in late August, 1945, which lasted for three years and five months. During the period, he moved to 29 villages in 6 counties of Xinhe, Jixian, Nangong, Julu, Longping and Ningnan. Among them, he was stationed in Nangong for two years, the longest time, and moved around 13 village, with the most resident villages.

The period from 194 1 to 1942 was the most rampant period of fascist forces in the world, and it was also the most arduous and difficult period in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, China. At this time, Germany, Italy and Japan signed a military alliance treaty, Germany declared war on the Soviet Union, Japan successfully attacked Pearl Harbor, the US Pacific naval base, and the Pacific War broke out in an all-round way. In order to turn China into its "rear base" in the Pacific War, the Japanese army stepped up its aggression. As an important anti-Japanese fortress area behind enemy lines in North China, the anti-Japanese base area in southern Hebei is naturally included in the operational focus. In order to destroy this base area, starting from 194 1, in addition to frequent raids, they also built a large number of bunker strongholds, opened roads, dug ditches and built walls, and implemented a "cage" policy of dividing and "nibbling" the base area. They also tried their best to strengthen the puppet troops and organizations, issued "citizen cards", audited accounts, and implemented the policy of keeping the armor secret.

In this situation, it is impossible for Jinan Daily to continue publishing, but the harsh struggle needs the cooperation of newspapers as a tool of public opinion propaganda. Therefore, the Party Committee of Jin 'an District decided to suspend the publication of Jinan Daily temporarily, and instead, the local committee set up a separate newspaper and distributed it locally. So Fuyang Daily was first published in April 1942, that is, the month when Jinan Daily stopped publishing. The newspaper covers Nanhe, Renxian, Longping, Yaoshan, Baixiang, Pingxiang, Ningnan, Julu, Nangong, Xinhe and the Inner East District of the Second Division. Therefore, this registration is made because the Fuyang River flows through the territory of the Second Division, which not only embodies the regional characteristics, but also aims to stimulate people's inner feelings of caring for and defending their hometown.

After the publication of Fuyang Daily, there were eight mimeographed editions. Generally, each issue is engraved with waxed paper, published once every three days, and printed in four or five hundred copies. The main content is to elaborate the policy of the war of resistance against Japan, analyze the situation of the war of resistance against Japan, publicize the deeds of the war of resistance against Japan, and expose the crimes of the Japanese puppet troops. The distribution target is the district leading organs and the county armed forces team.

After the "April 29" iron wall encirclement and suppression, the struggle situation became more severe. It is impossible for a newspaper to concentrate on running a newspaper in a village. Under the realistic threat that Japanese puppet troops often occupy villages, they have to move frequently. In mid-July, they moved to Dongjiazhuang at the junction of Xinhe, Jixian and Nangong counties. In mid-September, it moved to Song Lizhuang, Wangcun and Zicun in Hebei Special Zone. Due to the limitation of the environment and the source of manuscripts, the situation that Fuyang Daily is published every three days is unsustainable, so it has to be revised into a 32-format Fuyang Xunkan.

Hebei Special Zone is located in the eastern border of the Second Division, and the newspaper has been in this corner for a long time, which is not conducive to guiding the counties to fight against the enemy, nor to the publication of newspapers. 1942 in the early winter, according to the instructions of the district Committee, the newspaper moved to the west of the hinterland of the second division. However, halfway through the trip, I learned that Fuxi's situation was very serious. So I decided to stay in Nangong, and the first stop was Fengyangzhuang in the west of the city. Later, it was transferred to Deyan Palace, Dajia Village and Su Village. This year, they spent 1943 Spring Festival in Huapen Village and Licun Village, and moved to Deyang Palace Village in March and April.

Deyan Palace is a big village in the west of Nangong, with a "two-faced" village head appointed by our party. At the same time, the Nangong enemy workstation has also set up a point nearby to inform the enemy's activities at any time. Therefore, although the south of the village is a highway with turrets in the southwest corner, it can be described as the "king's paradise" in the eyes of the enemy, but our party has made use of the "dark under the lights" and established an anti-Japanese "stronghold" here. It was not until the end of July that an unexpected thing happened that the newspaper had to move again. On this day, President Yu Wen was captured by the enemy of the south shanzhai on his way to the prefectural party committee to report his work. After getting the news, the newspaper moved to Fengjiazhuang on the south side of the highway overnight.

/kloc-in the autumn of 0/943, the prefectural party Committee decided to resume the publication of Fuyang Daily. To this end, in addition to increasing the number of newspaper staff, they are also equipped with a radio station to receive press releases. After a short stay in Shijiazhuang and Yunjiazhuang, the long-planned westward plan was launched again.

From 65438 to 0944, the world anti-fascist war situation improved obviously, and China and War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression also ushered in a new stage of strategic counterattack. By this summer, I had unplugged the watchtower and stronghold in the hinterland of southern Hebei. With the change of the situation, the work of Fuyang Daily has also entered a new stage, from Fuxin to Nangong, the central area of southern Hebei. It passes through Guojiatai, Zhaojiatai, Yujiatai, Laowangzhuang and Wangjiachang villages in Longping, ningnan county, and arrives at Mengcun village in the northwest of Nangong City in September 1944.

At this time, China people's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression is on the eve of final victory, and Beimeng Village is also near the liberated area. When the newspaper entered the village, the masses were raising money to sing opera. They invited a yangko team, lit two big oil lamps and sang for more than 20 nights in a row, which was unimaginable during the Japanese occupation. Under such circumstances, the work of Fuyang Daily has also taken a new turn.

First of all, great changes have taken place in the form of work, from scattered multi-village work and multi-village accommodation to living in the same village and concentrated work, which facilitates work contact. Secondly, the work and rest time has been greatly adjusted, and the black-and-white work and rest mode has been changed to realize normal work and rest during the day. Third, there has been a great development in personnel. From 1944 to the spring of 1945, a large number of staff were transferred. Radio, editing, printing, distribution, and administration are all staffed, and the division of labor is meticulous. Fourthly, the printing equipment has been greatly improved, from mimeograph to lithograph, which not only improves the printing quality, but also increases the printing quantity. Fifth, the quality of running newspapers has been greatly improved. On the one hand, it expanded the coverage and widely collected and reported the situation of the Second Division. On the other hand, the propaganda of current events has been strengthened, which has enabled people to understand the situation of the anti-fascist war in the country and even the world and boosted morale.

1in March, 945, all the staff of Fuyang Daily moved to Jianjiachen Village, which is less than 10 from the county seat, with the feeling of welcoming the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. At this time, exciting news came one after another, seven victories of great historical significance were held, news of victory on the world anti-fascist battlefield came one after another, and the situation of the Second Division also showed gratifying changes. In the spring of this year, the Nangong, where the newspaper was located, conquered Su Village's stronghold, unplugged the turret of Deyan Palace, cleared Dazhao's post and eliminated the stubborn bandits in Gao Village. Under the shock of repeated surprise attacks, enemies from other strongholds fled into the county seat, and Nangong County was liberated on May 2. On this day, Soviet troops conquered Berlin, and on May 8, Germany announced its unconditional surrender. War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory is just around the corner.

Just as newspaper workers fought day and night with confidence and greeted the final victory of the Anti-Japanese War with practical actions, the Party Committee of Jin 'an District issued a notice asking all localities to appoint their own newspapers to prepare for the closure, merger and resumption of Jinan Daily. Accordingly, the prefectural party Committee instructed the newspaper to move to Xiaoshibai Village in the south of Nangong City for standby.

At the end of July, I arrived at Xiaoshiba Village. Then came the news that the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, the Soviet Union declared war on Japan and Japan surrendered unconditionally. The eight-year historical disaster of China people has finally come to an end. In order to let people know the good news as soon as possible, Fuyang Daily immediately printed thousands more copies and distributed them widely. Then he copied and compiled a series of orders issued by Commander-in-Chief Zhu De, demanding the Japanese invaders to surrender, exposing the conspiracy of Chiang Kai-shek and the Japanese puppet government, and the news that the people of the whole country warmly celebrated the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, thus successfully completing the propaganda task in the last stage. At this point, Fuyang Daily has also completed its historical mission and officially announced its closure.

In late August, all the staff of Fuyang Newspaper started from Xiaoshiba Village in Nangong and went to huzhuang in Linqing to meet the brothers newspaper.

On September 1 1, the first issue of Jinan Daily was officially released.
