Yueyang, formerly known as Baling and Tongqu, also known as Yuezhou, was founded in 505 BC and is a famous cultural city with a long history of more than 2,500 years. The Yueyang area, as it is now called, was inhabited as early as 3000 years ago from the pre-Qin to the Qin and Han Dynasties. During the Xia and Shang Dynasties, it was an international port and a famous cultural city of Jing-Yueyang (7 pieces) was the territory of the country and the land of three seedlings. The Spring and Autumn Period belonged to Chu, and it was also the land of elk and Luo, and it was still the land of Chu during the Warring States Period. During the Zhou Dynasty, Simi City was built here, which was the beginning of Yueyang City. Qin destroyed the six countries and implemented the county system. Most areas of Yueyang belong to Luoxian and Changsha counties. In the Western Han Dynasty, Yueyang, Linxiang, Pingjiang, Xiangyin and Miluo belonged to Xiajun and Luoxian (Changsha County Reform) in Changsha, and Huarong County belonged to GuHuarong County in Nanjun and Yiling County in Wuling County. Changsha was changed to Changsha County in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and Hanchang County was built along Pingjiang River east of Luoxian County. In the fifteenth year of Jian 'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (265,438+00), Sun Quan built Hanchang and Xiajun into Hanchang County, which was under the jurisdiction of Jinpuguan in Pingjiang County, which was the beginning of the establishment of Yueyang County. In the first year of Huanglong (229), Nan 'an County was established in present Huarong County in the south of Yiling County, and Hanchang County was abolished and changed to Wuchang County. Later, Lu Su built Baqiu City here.
