What's the scenery like in Old Tongguan?
Shuipo Lane is located in Nanjie Village, Qindong Town, Tongguan County, facing the south wall of Tongguan Ancient City in the south and adjacent to Qilin Mountain. It is the only block in Tongguan ancient city that has been preserved to this day.

On April 10, the reporter went to Shuipo Lane near the south wall of Tongguan Ancient City, which is 0/0 km away from Tongguan County. The origin of the name Shuipo Lane is because the entrance is a gentle slope with low terrain. Every summer and autumn rainstorm, the flood on the east side of the alley pours down and washes out a deep ditch mark in the middle of the alley. The overall trend is like a big slope, hence the name "Shuipo Lane". The alley leads directly to Qilin Mountain behind, and the house is built on the edge of the alley. There is a patchwork of up and down, and there is a unique flavor in strolling.

According to reports, Shuipo Lane was mostly built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. In the old days, it was mostly a place where dignitaries and businessmen gathered, and there were generals stationed in Tongguan. During the Anti-Japanese War, Kuomintang regimental headquarters and police stations were stationed here. In 1950s, the old town of Tongguan county was relocated, which was preserved because of its high terrain, and the architectural features of Tongguan ancient town were well preserved.

Shuipo Lane is unique in that it is a water street with mountain characteristics. Unique walking space is formed on both sides of the open drainage channel, and a water street pattern of "one river and two streets" is formed between two streets and the river. This is unique in Guanzhong area and even in the northern region. Shuipo Lane is divided into west section, middle section and east section. With the change of slope, the relationship between the canal and the banks on both banks is not the same, and it has a unique spatial form.

Walking along the alley, there is a locust tree with a crooked neck in the middle of the alley. According to the staff of the Cultural Tourism Bureau, it was planted during the inspection of Emperor Qianlong. After thousands of years, it is still flourishing, and the locals call it "Dragon Tooth Flower".

Residents of Shuipo Lane are mostly descendants of soldiers and bureaucrats in their early years. Opposite Longhuai is the former residence of Shenyang, No.7 Shuipo Lane. The woodcarving on the door can also show the prosperity of that year. It is said that this used to be the place where Kang Youwei lived. Another old house of the Zhao family, where those who returned from Germany once lived. 1944 Spring, Henan fell, Tongguan people built fortifications in Niutouyuan. Jiang Weiguo, who lives in Zhangjia Village under the tableland, rushed to Yuan Shangdong Village and called a meeting of nearby villagers to defend Tongguan. At the meeting, Jiang Weiguo knelt on the table and swore: "I, Jiang Weiguo, swear to live and die with Tongguan! Never give up Tongguan! Never abandon Tongguan's father! " Soon, the Japanese army retreated and Jiang Weiguo was transferred from Tongguan.
