Why is Wuxi called the Pearl of Taihu Lake?
Wuxi, located in the south of Jiangsu Province, in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta Plain, is the transportation hub of Taihu Lake Basin. It is bordered by the Yangtze River in the north, Taihu Lake in the south, Suzhou in the east and Changzhou in the west, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through it. Wuxi has been a famous land of plenty in China since ancient times, with beautiful scenery and a long history of thousands of years. It is famous for its beautiful landscapes and numerous human landscapes, and is known as the "Pearl of Taihu Lake". Famous scenic spots include Yuantouzhu, Taihu Lake, Lingshan, Wuxi Zhong Shi Film and Television Base, Chicken Farm Garden, Taibo Temple, Huishan Ancient Town, Donglin Academy, Zhaositang, the Second Spring in the World, Hengshan Meiyuan Scenic Area, nanzenji, Liyuan and Ancient Canal.

Yuantouzhu: A national 5A-level tourist scenic spot, located on a peninsula on the northwest coast of Taihu Lake, is named after the huge stone protruding into the lake and resembling a turtle with its head held high. Yuantou Pearl Scenic Area was founded in 19 16, and has become a well-known tourist attraction at home and abroad.

Lingshan: Located on the bank of Taihu Lake in Wuxi, it is a national 5A-level tourist scenic spot, which consists of Xiaoling Mountain, Xiangfu Temple, Lingshan Giant Buddha and other scenic spots. It integrates lakes and mountains, gardens, squares, Buddhist culture and historical knowledge. It is the most complete and only Buddhist cultural theme park in China that displays Sakyamuni's achievements.
