Good at using anesthesia, acupuncture, moxibustion and other methods, good at thoracotomy. The surgical method is not the mainstream treatment method of traditional Chinese medicine based on the culture of "respecting Confucianism". Under the Confucian thought of "the strength of the body is what parents receive", surgery has not developed on a large scale in Chinese medicine. Some medical historians have verified that the treatment methods used by Hua Tuo were recorded in Indian medicine, and the main medicine "Datura flower" in Ma Fei San he used was also produced in India, so they suggested that Hua Tuo had traveled all over the Central Plains all his life, probably from India.
Story 1 of Hua Tuo's treatment: Hua Tuo is good at using psychotherapy to treat diseases. There was a county magistrate who was very ill. Hua Tuo went to see him. The county magistrate asked Hua tuo to treat him. Hua Tuo said to the son of the county magistrate, "Your father's illness is different from other diseases. There is blood stasis in his stomach. You have to provoke him to spit it out, so that he can cure the disease, or he will die. Can you tell me all the wrong things your father usually does? I wrote and reprimanded him. " The sheriff's son said, "If you can cure your father's illness, what can't you say?" So he told Hua Tuo all the unreasonable things his father had done for a long time. Hua Tuo wrote a letter denouncing the chief. When the leader read the letter, he was furious and sent officials to arrest Hua Tuo. When he didn't catch him, the chief was furious and spit out more than a liter of black blood, and his illness was cured. Story 2: (One day), Hua Tuo was walking on the road and saw a man with a blocked throat. He wants to eat, but he can't swallow it. His family is driving him to the hospital. When Hua Tuo heard the patient's voice, he stopped to see the doctor and told them, "On my way here just now, there was a cake seller with garlic and vinegar. You buy three liters from the shopkeeper, and your illness will naturally be fine. " They immediately did as Hua Tuo said, and immediately spit out a snake-like parasite. They hung the bugs by the car and wanted to go to Hua Tuo's house to thank them. Before Hua Tuo went home, Hua Tuo's son was playing at the door and saw them head on. The child said to himself, "You seem to have seen my father, and the' illness' next to the car is proof." When the patient entered the room and sat down, he saw dozens of such parasites hanging on the north wall of Huatuo's house.
The story of Cao Cao's killing Hua Tuo In Chapter 78 of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Luo Guanzhong described in detail how Cao Cao killed Hua Tuo.
In order to build the first temple, Cao Cao personally cut down the pear tree in front of Yuelong Temple with his sword, which offended the god of pear trees. That night, he had a nightmare. After waking up, he continued to have a headache. He found a good doctor, but it was useless.
Later, Hua Tuo recommended Hua Tuo to Cao Cao, and Cao Cao immediately sent someone to invite Hua Tuo to see him in the evening. Hua Tuo thinks that Cao Cao's headache is caused by a stroke, which is rooted in his head. Drinking some soup can't cure it. You should first drink "Ma Fei Tang" (also known as "Leprosy Powder"), which is an anesthetic invented by Hua Tuo, and then cut his head open with a sharp axe and take out "wind saliva" to remove the root of the disease.
Suspicious Cao Cao thought that Hua tuo was taking the opportunity to kill him and avenge Guan Yu, so he ordered Hua tuo to be put into prison and tortured, resulting in the death of a generation of imperial doctors in prison, and Hua tuo's "Green Capsule Book" was also lost.
