The building is a three-story masonry building, covering an area of about 700 square meters, with a building area of 480 square meters, including a showroom area of 400 square meters. The building faces south, the basement is on the ground floor, and the walls are made of stones. The second and third floors are made of brick-wood structure and red brick, so it is called "Red Building", which is small, beautiful and eye-catching. There are seven rooms in the building. On the southwest side of the second floor, there is a front porch and Roman vault, and on the third floor, there is a balcony. Reasonable layout, with obvious western style. There is a square in front of the building, a garden courtyard behind the building and a wall around it. Revolutionary slogans and slogans written by the Red Army of Workers and Peasants when they conquered Zhangzhou are left on the front and east wall.
The memorial hall has a rich collection of nearly a thousand cultural relics. There are not only a lot of historical materials about the revolutionary activities in southern Fujian, but also photos of the Red Army's conquest of Zhangzhou, trophies of the Red Army, publicity materials, arms armbands used by guerrillas, and Mao Zedong's daily necessities. There are four exhibition halls in the museum, highlighting the theme of Zhangzhou campaign. Among them, the "Mao Zedong Studio" was renovated as it was according to the memories and instructions of the old comrades such as Guan Jieqing, Deng Zihui, Ceng Zhi, Luo Ming and Mao Zedong who lived in the building.
1October, 1956, 165438, Zhangzhou changed Mao Zedong's "Shan Zhi Red Mansion" into "Minnan Revolution Memorial Hall", 1957 opened, 1962 renamed it "Chairman Mao's Residence Memorial Hall",/. Shan Zhi Red Mansion has been successively announced as a national key cultural relic protection unit and a traditional education base for youth revolution in Fujian Province.
