Road history of Wenling Road
Before liberation, before the completion of Wenling Road, there was a hillside in the east of the old agricultural school, with a great slope, and some sections even passed through the old agricultural school. At that time, Quanzhou people called it "Minsheng Seven". For a time, the old agricultural school was also called "Minsheng Agricultural School".

After the 1950s, people changed their names to "Dong Xiaoer" through Quanzhou City. At that time, the road was paved with stone slabs. The whole road was not as straight as it is now, and it was a bit crooked.

1979, in order to meet the increasing demand of traffic and people flow, Wenling Road began to dismantle some stores, and was completed and opened to traffic in 1985, which is a transit national road. Pavement resurfacing and widening have basically formed the framework of Wenling Road. Wenling Road starts from the east gate of the old city in the north, connects with Fuxia Road, and reaches the approach bridge of Quanzhou Bridge in the south. This bridge can connect Jinjiang, Shishi or Xiamen. Upon completion, the whole Wenling Road is 2130m long and 46m wide (motor vehicle lane14.8m, non-motor vehicle lane 6.4× 2m, sidewalk 7× 2m, green belt 2.2× 2m), covering an area of 98,000m2, and it is a road surface in Shi Zhuan. There are many high-rise buildings on both sides of the road, which is the bustling area of Quanzhou.

Now, Wenling Road has become the most important municipal traffic artery in Quanzhou. It is located in the center of the city and many important streets in the city are connected with it.
