Introduction of Laomendong Scenic Spot

1, Shangjiang Kaobang

Shangjiang Kaobang is located in the east of Zhonghua Gate, Qinhuai District, Nanjing, now Laomen East. Nanjing set up Shangjiang experimental shed and Xiajiang experimental shed in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Because Anhui is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, it is called Shangjiang. Jiangsu is located in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, so it is called Xiajiang. The test shed is the examination room, and it is the housing group where candidates live when they come to Nanjing to take the imperial examination.

2. Jiang Million's Former Residence

Jiang Million's former residence starts from Sanjiaoying in the south, Tang Shuang Garden in the east, Taojia Lane in the west and Jianzi Lane in the north. There are two groups of seven courtyards, covering an area of about 5900 square meters, which is a typical architectural style of Huizhou folk houses in the south of the Yangtze River.

3. Qinhuai River

Qinhuai River, a tributary of the right bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China. It was called Longzangpu in ancient times, Huaishui in Han Dynasty and Qinhuai in Tang Dynasty. Qinhuai River has two sources, the Jurong River in the north originates from the southern foot of Baohua Mountain in jurong city, and the Lishui River in the south originates from Donglu Mountain in Lishui District.

The two rivers flow into the main stream of Qinhuai River in Daixi North Village, Fangshan, Jiangning District, Nanjing, bypassing Fangshan to the gate of the outer city in the northwest, flowing into Nanjing from Dongshuiguan, crossing the main city of Nanjing from east to west, flowing out from Xishuiguan and flowing into the Yangtze River in the south.

4. Ming city wall

Nanjing Ming City Wall, including Miyagi, Imperial City, Capital City and Outer Guo Cheng, is the capital of Ming Dynasty. Today, it refers to the well-preserved capital city wall, which is the longest, largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in the world.

5. Stone carving archway

Laomendong archway is17m high. Exquisite stone carvings are laid on the foreheads of beams, columns and squares by dry hanging technology. These stone carvings were designed and carved by stone carving artists in Huian, Fujian. Stone carving pictures include Chyi Chin's calligraphy and painting, Mei Zhulanju and Yu Ruyi. The drum-hugging stone on the base of the archway is also paved with exquisite stone carvings.
