According to the spirit of the Opinions of the Ministry of Health on the Reform of Health Supervision System and the Reform Plan of Health Supervision and Disease Prevention System in Jiangsu Province, Wuxi CDC was approved by Wuxi Organizational Establishment Committee (1 1). On February 28th, 20001year, it was newly established on the basis of merging the former Wuxi Health and Epidemic Prevention Station (Wuxi Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Institute), Wuxi Schistosomiasis Prevention and Control Station, Wuxi Dermatology Prevention and Control Institute (Wuxi STD Prevention and Control Center), Wuxi Health Education Institute and Wuxi Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Institute. Directly under the Wuxi Municipal Health Bureau, it is a prevention and control institution that undertakes health technical services such as disease prevention and control, scientific research, health monitoring and inspection, health education and medical care. The approved establishment of the center is 179, which consists of three functional departments: office, technical quality department and security department, six business departments: disease control department, public health department, occupational health department, health education department, outpatient department and laboratory department, as well as science and technology service department and new sub-center. At the end of 2002, the center's health testing laboratory was the first in the prefecture-level cities in the province to be recognized by the National Accreditation Committee of Chinese Laboratories. The test report issued by the center can be recognized by more than 50 countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, Britain, Germany and France, which is of great significance for improving the investment environment of Wuxi, enhancing the competitiveness of Wuxi's enterprise products in the international market and promoting the development of Wuxi's export-oriented economy. In 2005, the center passed the on-site supervision and expanded project evaluation by the National Accreditation Committee of Chinese Laboratories, with a total of 434 items, covering seven fields, including food hygiene, cosmetics, drinking water and water-related products, public places, labor hygiene and radiation hygiene, disinfection and pest control, health examination and outpatient inspection. In the same year, it was awarded the qualification of "Wuxi Food Hygiene and Safety Testing Center" and "Forensic Toxicology Identification Institute of Wuxi Center for Disease Control and Prevention". The center is committed to continuously improving service quality and service level, providing the society with health inspection, detection and evaluation of various products, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, various skin diseases, sexually transmitted diseases and occupational diseases, and providing comprehensive health care services by using the advantages of equipment, technology and talents. /
