History of Wanrongmen
Wanrongmen was built in the Tang Dynasty, when it was the south gate of Duyao City. With the prosperity of Yaodu, Wanrongmen has gradually developed. During the Song Dynasty, Wanrongmen was rebuilt, forming its present scale. In the Yuan Dynasty, Wanrongmen underwent another large-scale renovation, adding gatehouses and watchtowers. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Wanrong Gate was renovated many times and became one of the oldest, largest and most well-preserved ancient city gates in China.
