More than 60 sets of comic books drawn by Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House in 1950s and 1960s are the most popular and influential comic books in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The story begins with the loyalty of Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei in Taoyuan, and finally pacifies Wu. It describes the contradictions and struggles between feudal ruling groups in the late Eastern Han Dynasty and even the whole Three Kingdoms period, reflects the turbulent social situation at that time, and exposes some evils of feudal rulers such as Dong Zhuo. Many descriptions in the book provide vivid and rich materials for understanding the political and military struggles in feudal society. This series of cartoons was drawn by dozens of famous artists such as Liu Xiyong, Chen Guangyi, Li Tiesheng and Wang Yushan, with 60 volumes and nearly 7,000 pictures, which reproduced the historical picture of the Three Kingdoms and created many characters such as Zhuge Liang, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Cao Cao and Zhou Yu. Since its publication, it has been reprinted and published many times, which has a great influence. The first volume, Taoyuan Jieyi, was written by Xu Zhengping and Xu Hongda.
