The East Campus of the West Campus of Hebei Normal University is located in Hongqi Street, where there are College of Arts, College of History and Culture, College of Journalism and Communication, College of Art and Design, College of Music, Academy of Fine Arts and Hua Hui College.
Located in Xinshi South Road, the West Campus of Normal University is an undergraduate course, including Law and Politics College, Public Administration College, Business School and Education College. The campus of Vocational and Technical College is in Donggang Road, so there are colleges of Vocational and Technical College, both undergraduate and junior college. Hua Hui University is divided into three campuses: South Campus and North Campus. The affiliated institute for nationalities is a junior college.

The predecessor of the school can be traced back to July of the 27th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (190 1). The prefect of Shuntian requested to set up a western language museum, which was approved on the eighth day of August and opened for trial operation in the government. In September, Emperor Guangxu approved the request of the magistrate of Shuntianfu and sent the former site of the bureau to run a school in Shuntianfu.
In June, 1996, four universities merged, and the former Hebei Normal University, Hebei Normal University, Hebei Education College and Hebei Normal University Vocational and Technical Teachers College merged to form a new Hebei Normal University.
