1983, when Gustin Glock designed the original Glock 17, he thought of facing a broader market of Biojun. Therefore, he designed GLOCK 17L for the target shooter (basically, the model 17 has an extended sleeve), and the fully automatic model 18 is for the needs of the police and the military market. GLOCK 18 is mostly sold by special police units, such as Italian airport police.
Glock 18(Glock 18) is a pistol designed and produced by Glock Company. Glock 18 just like Glock 17, there is a launch mode selection button on the sleeve. Glock 18 can choose full-automatic or single-shot, with the selection key down for full-automatic mode and up for single-shot mode. 9 mm Luger shell was fired, and the magazine was marked as 17 rounds.
Automatic Glock 18 evolved from the famous Glock 17, but its main operating components are slightly different.
GLOCK 18 is small in shape and powerful in firepower. It is only available to the personnel of special forces, special police or other military units. For the sake of public safety, Gerstung GLOCK designed GLOCK 18 so that some parts cannot be interchanged with other GLOCK pistols.
GLOCK 18 has some protruding parts on the end face of the bottom handle guide rail, so it is necessary to add some chutes on the sleeve guide rail to cooperate with it, so that the bottom handle and sleeve of GLOCK 17 and GLOCK 18 cannot be interchanged.
The shooting control mechanism of GLOCK 18 is extremely simple. There is a piece of metal protruding upward on the pull rod of the trigger. When the reducer is in the fully automatic position, another piece of metal protrudes downward from the back of the sleeve. When the sleeve moves forward in the firing cycle to push the next bullet into the gun bore, as long as the trigger is still pressed down, the protruding part below the sleeve will contact with the protruding metal sheet on the trigger pull rod, thus pushing the trigger pull rod downward, so that the trigger pull rod automatically pulls the spring pressure rod, and the firing pin is released and no longer hits the next bullet.
Due to the simple design without deceleration mechanism, the theoretical firing rate of GLOCK 18 is extremely high, with 1 100- 1300 rounds per minute.
GLOCK 18 Because of the high firing rate, bullets will be used up, so GLOCK Company produced a magazine with a capacity of 3 1 round, which can be increased to 34 rounds after replacing the "base". However, because the 34-round magazine is too long, some shooters still use the standard 17-round magazine (20 rounds after expansion) in order to carry things conveniently. There is also a special magazine, 100 rounds, but it is not convenient to carry.
Glock 18 has undergone three revisions, and the latest version is called 3rd generation Glock 18. Starting from 1999, the new Glock 18 has a guide rail at the front and bottom of the sleeve, which can be used to install various tactical accessories. In addition, there are finger grooves on the handle.
In the United States, Glock 18 is only provided to law enforcement departments, and Glock1719 corresponds to the issuance of standard magazines, and there are also large-capacity magazines with 31/33100 rounds, but large-capacity magazines are not very popular. A small amount of Glock 18 is owned by the people according to the national arms control law.
Glock 18C
GLOCK 18, like other GLOCK pistols, has an accessory guide rail at the front end of the bottom handle and a finger groove on the handle. There is also a model called GLOCK 18C, which, like other "C" GLOCK pistols, has holes at the front end of the barrel and the top end of the sleeve to restrain the muzzle jump during automatic shooting. However, according to the shooters, GLOCK 18C is not effective in the case of full automation.
Glock had designed a model to extend the barrel in the early days, in order to prevent the gun hole from jumping out of the barrel above the sleeve, but this design increased the length of the whole gun, and this model was not mass-produced.
Glock 18c-The compensation model of muzzle compensation device, as the name implies, is the version of installing muzzle compensation device in front of the barrel of Glock18. In fact, two oval holes are opened at the top of the barrel, and the gas discharged during automatic shooting is used to suppress the muzzle direction.
