After Xianggong's death, the scholar went to the State of Qin to meet Yong, the son of the State of Jin, and stayed in the State of Qin because of the changes in the State of Jin. His descendants took Wei Liu's surname (meaning "stay").

In the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, King Kuang of Zhou named his youngest son Wang Jidao (south of Yanshi County, Henan Province) as Liu Kanggong, and later generations also called Liu. In Liu's history, there are many famous families. Liu Pengcheng Kui's family, Nanyang Liu Jinshi's family and Yong's family all played an important role in the history of China, not to mention the groundbreaking Liu Bang family in Pei County, where Liu proclaimed himself emperor for more than 400 years. During the Three Kingdoms period, Liu Bei established Shu Han, and two generations proclaimed themselves emperor for 43 years. It took 60 years for Emperor Wu of the Southern and Northern Dynasties to establish the Song Dynasty. At the end of Yuan Dynasty, Liu Bowen assisted Zhu Yuanzhang in establishing the Ming Dynasty and unifying China for 276 years. It can be seen that Liu is good at laying the foundation
