General situation of Xinjiang Institute of Technology
Xinjiang Institute of Technology is located in the west extension of Chuangye Avenue (main campus) and Nanchang Road (branch campus) in Suzhou Road, Urumqi. Founded in 1958, it has a long history. It is the only engineering undergraduate college in higher education in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the training base for engineering talents in Xinjiang.

Historical change school was founded in 1958. It was founded as Xinjiang Coal Mine School, 1960 was upgraded to Xinjiang Coal Mine College, 1962 was upgraded to Urumqi Coal Mine School, 1985 was upgraded to Xinjiang Coal Mine College, and 1994 was renamed Xinjiang Institute of Technology, which is an autonomous region higher education institution. In 2005, the school passed the expert evaluation organized by the Ministry of Education and the Education Department of the Autonomous Region, and was identified as an excellent institution for evaluating the level of talent training in higher vocational colleges.

At present, the school has two campuses (the main campus is located on Chuangye Avenue in the west extension of Suzhou Road and the sub-campus is on Nanchang Road), with an area of 178 1 mu and a construction area of 243,800 square meters. At present, the school has more than 40 majors, such as mining engineering department 1 1 teaching department and coal mining technology, among which two majors, coal mining technology and mining electromechanical, have been included in the professional construction plan of key industries in the autonomous region. The school has 1 national quality construction specialty, 3 autonomous region-level specialty and 2 autonomous region-level teaching teams. The school has 19 experimental centers, 82 on-campus laboratories, 1 engineering training center (teaching practice factory) and 76 off-campus practice bases.

Since the establishment of the school, students have trained more than 50,000 graduates for the country and the autonomous region. The school is now enrolling students from 24 provinces and regions across the country, with perfect teaching and living facilities. Since 2006, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 95%, ranking among the top universities in the autonomous region. At the same time, the school went abroad for the first time in 2006 and jointly run a school with Malaysia University of Science and Technology. In 2008, it was qualified to accept foreign students and enrolled more than 40 foreign students for the first time.

At present, the "teacher structure" school has nearly 570 teaching staff and 396 full-time teachers. It has 8 school-level specialty, 27 school-level excellent courses, 7 school-level teaching achievement awards, 8 school-level famous teachers and 9 school-level excellent teaching teams. In the past 50 years, especially in the past 20 years, the number of teachers in the school has been continuously strengthened, and a large number of famous teachers and rookies have emerged. Diligent and dedicated teachers have become an important force to promote the continuous progress of the school.

The school has a team of teachers with reasonable structure, high teaching level and strong scientific research ability. In recent years, the school has undertaken 42 vertical projects and 22 horizontal projects at all levels in the autonomous region. School teachers have published 27 school-based textbooks, edited or edited more than 50 textbooks, and obtained more than 30 national patents. 47 articles were retrieved by SCI and EI, and published by national core journals 15 1 article. Won 37 national patents, 26 people won scientific research awards at or above the municipal level, won the second prize of scientific and technological progress in the autonomous region, and won the third prize of scientific and technological progress in Urumqi.
