The history of Xiajiang?
Xiajiang, also known as Yu Xia. Xiajiang River is located at the crossroads of Ganjiang River, with dangerous terrain, narrow river surface and fast flowing water, so it is named Xiajiang River.

In ancient times, it was the land of Xingan and Shiyang County. In the second year of Wu Baoding in the Three Kingdoms (267), Qian Xin and Shiyang were located in Baqiu County. In the 10th year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (590), Shiyang and Baqiu counties were abolished and merged into Luling and Xingan counties respectively. In the fifth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1526), Xiajiang County was established.

The county seat was originally located in Baqiu Town on the west bank of Ganjiang River. 1 June 65438+1October 65438+July1moved to the county town with the approval of the State Council, and officially moved to Shuibian town.

In June 1985, 19, Shuibian Township was changed to township system (Ganfutingzi [1985] No.340). 1993 Revocation of "Ma Bu" Township, Yan Xi Township and Renhe Township, Establishment of "Ma Bu" Town, Yan Xi Town and renhe town (Reply No.53 of Gan Min Zi [1993]). Up to now, there are 5 towns and 7 townships in Xiajiang, with a population of 89,900, including 25,500 non-agricultural population.

1April 997 16, Jinjiang township government moved to Dongjiamiao (reply No.78 of Gan Min Zi [1997]). July 5 1999 Fumin township government moved to Louwude (ReplyNo. [ 1999] 183).

In 2000, the county administered 5 towns and 7 townships: Shuibian Town, Baqiu Town, Mabu Town, renhe town Town, Yan Xi Town, Tonglin Township, Fumin Township, Geping Township, Jinjiang Township, Shafang Township, Luotian Township and Baqiu Township.
