Wuhan No.2 Light Industry School, formerly known as "Wuhan Arts and Crafts School" founded by 1964, was closed during the Cultural Revolution. 1979 was renamed as "Wuhan second light industrial school" with the approval of the provincial people's government. When it first resumed running, the school faced the situation of "no space, no teachers, no equipment, no funds and no students". It rented venues everywhere and finally settled in Qingshan after several relocations.
