1948 In May, Northwest Party School was ordered to move back to Yan 'an. On June 12, the Northwest Bureau decided to merge the promotion party school into the Northwest Party School and set up a training course for promotion cadres in the Northwest Party School. Since then, Yan 'an Party School has truly become a local party school under the leadership of Yan 'an Local Standing Committee.

Yan 'an Party School has been renamed and relocated many times since it was founded on 1943. In the mid-1980s, the Party School of Yan 'an Municipal Committee was still running schools in the mountains. Until the end of 1990s, the Party School of Yan 'an Municipal Committee was a school with no walls and extending in all directions. In order to change this situation, under the leadership and strong support of the municipal party committee (prefectural party committee), relying on the United struggle of the faculty and staff of the whole school, the capital construction of the party school has advanced by leaps and bounds, and staff residential buildings, library office buildings and campus gates have been built successively, which has hardened and beautified the campus.
