During my work in North Korea, I was lucky enough to see the customs of Xianxing and feel the beauty of the beach training hall, which really made people linger.
On Wednesday afternoon, Xiao Zhao and I made a work plan, and planned to work with the factory workers there first on Thursday. Production is basically over, and we need to check and clean it up. I always had another translator to accompany me in the past, thinking of returning to China immediately, so I asked Xiao Zhao smoothly, why don't you go back and apply, and go to Xianxing with me tomorrow, just in time to take me shopping at the weekend. I used to be in a hurry every time, so I didn't have time to have fun at the seaside. Xiao Zhao needs to report back. I don't know if he can come. I can see that she still wants to go with me, so she can relax in Xianxing. When I left, I specifically told me that it was a long way to go to Xianxing, and it was almost a day on the road, so I needed to leave early.
I got a call from Xiao Zhao at 5: 30 in the morning and was already waiting for me in the lobby downstairs. Seeing me go downstairs, I put my luggage in the car and began to check out. When we set out, it was still before dawn and there were no pedestrians in the street. Sitting in the car, watching Xiao Zhao, the interpreter who came to pick me up, needless to ask, this time we must have agreed to leave for Xianxing together. Although she started early, Xiao Zhao looked in good spirits. She told me with great enthusiasm that she couldn't go this time. Instructor Li has something to do temporarily and asked her to accompany me. I wish I could go anyway. When you arrive in Xianxing, you can also go shopping after work.
This time, it's another China customer colleague from Beijing. We met in Xianxing last time. Although we are not very familiar with each other, we are both from China, and we feel very cordial in North Korea. We really responded to the phrase "meet an old friend in another country". Even if we are unfamiliar, meeting China people in foreign countries will make us feel close, especially if we can speak Chinese to each other. That feeling is better than our relatives. Only a wanderer abroad will have such a deep feeling.
Out of downtown Pyongyang, I set foot on the expressway here. The quality of their expressways is not as good as that of our provincial highways. The car they drive is state-owned and the road is built by their country, so there is no so-called toll station. It's just that the highway here is not closed, and all kinds of cars can get on it. Along the way, farmers can drive ox carts and bicycles on the road, and they can also see crops hanging by the roadside.
I didn't see any speed limit signs or speed cameras along the way. You can drive as fast as you want, but no one here dares to drive fast. The road surface is so bad and bumpy that it seems that it has not been repaired for many years. It is more like a county road in a domestic county than a highway. Otherwise, it's more than 300 kilometers, and it doesn't take a day to drive. When you see such a highway, you will understand what is going on.
Sitting in the car, looking at the vast tracts of farmland that flashed by on both sides of the road, it was in sharp contrast with Pyongyang where we started, as if we had suddenly returned to the 1980s in China from 2 1 century. In the distance, a low-rise residential building is also dilapidated and has not been repaired all the year round. Korean children who pass by occasionally are also covered in mud and dirty, playing in groups of three or five on the road in the field. They seem to have seen their childhood a long time ago, and despite the hardships, they feel extremely happy. Farmers riding bicycles on the road, much like our parents, go out early every day and go back to the fields to work hard. Gray cloth jackets only appeared in China in the 1980s. It seems that this is the only place to see such a scene now. If you want to remember the painful experience, it is quite appropriate to come to North Korea.
Near noon, we drove out of the relatively flat plain, and the next journey was a continuous mountain. Walking in the mountains, there are countless bridges and tunnels, which give you a feeling of driving in the Qinling Mountains in Xi 'an, China. The mountain road is rugged and the road is narrow, making it extremely difficult to walk. Walking in a narrow place, I sweat for the driver. Fortunately, the driver who took us in the past is very skilled and always misses. The car stopped when passing through a relatively open terrain. Xiao Zhao began to greet us to get off the bus and prepare lunch in the pavilion not far from the roadside. Although the weather is hot now, I feel that there is a cool breeze blowing in the mountains, and the temperature difference is still relatively large. Standing on the side of the road, looking at the rolling mountains in the distance makes people relaxed and happy. I really want to shout at the empty valley under my feet and shout out all the depression in my heart.
Thoughtful Xiao Zhao prepared a sumptuous box lunch for everyone, including fish, meat and vegetables. Of course, their famous pickle "pickled cabbage" is indispensable. After a long time, they are used to the kimchi they eat every meal and the taste that belongs here.
Several people found a clean clearing, sat on the floor, ate their own meals and enjoyed the scenery on this mountain, but they didn't use a flavor. Not far away, I saw several other people who stopped to eat here like us. Everyone greeted each other and temporarily forgot the fatigue when riding. I have to say that having a picnic on the mountain is a wonderful thing. Everyone will sit on the ground and eat together, and look at the beautiful scenery around them, and everyone will feel very relaxed.
After a brief rest, I embarked on a journey again. It is worth mentioning here that the Korean people are very particular about hygiene. After our group finished eating, Xiao Zhao finally carefully packed all the remaining domestic garbage, put it into convenient bags, packed it and took it back to the car, and took it back to the garbage station to throw it away, instead of throwing it around. This is a habit they have developed for many years. I haven't seen their bad habit of littering here for a long time.
The distance behind is through various mountain roads. After a long ride, the scenery outside the window is no longer novel, and my eyelids are constantly fighting. Xiao Zhao, who sat next to her, didn't know when she fell asleep, so she put on a coat to prevent the air conditioner from being turned on too low and catching a cold. Everyone else closed their eyes. It seems that I got up early in the morning and felt a little sleepy. A person feels bored and slowly falls asleep.
It was not until it was completely dark outside that we arrived at our destination-Xianxing City. Seeing the brightly lit residential buildings outside the window, after a long journey, we came here. The car finally took us to the leading seaside training hall, which is a single-family villa built by the sea. As soon as you get off the bus, you can hear the sound of waves lapping on the beach not far away.
After checking in for us, Xiao Zhao packed his luggage and got off the bus. Our group was assigned to No.5 single-family villa, and I lived on the second floor with my driver and Xiao Zhao. They live upstairs. After a simple meal in the restaurant, everyone went back to their rooms to rest because of the fatigue of the journey.
Have a good rest today. Since I'm in Xianxing, I'll have a good stroll here tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
