Wuhu is a sub-central city in Anhui province, one of the 27 cities in the central area of Yangtze River Delta, and an important city in Nanjing metropolitan area and Hefei metropolitan area? It is an important scientific research and education base and industrial base in East China and a comprehensive transportation hub in China.
Historical evolution of Wuhu
During the Spring and Autumn Period, Wuhu belonged to the State of Wu; Warring States period. In the third year of Zhou Yuanwang (473 BC), Wu was destroyed and belonged to Yue State. In the ninth year of Zhou Nanwang (306 BC), Yue was destroyed by the State of Chu and returned to the State of Chu.
During the Qin Dynasty, the whole country was divided into 36 counties, and Wuhu belonged to Yan County. There is a great controversy about the establishment of Yan county in academic circles. On the one hand, it was set in the late Qin Dynasty or the Chu and Han Dynasties, on the other hand, it was called Yan County of Wu Qin, and it was still named Jiuzi.
In the second year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty (before 109), Emperor Wudi changed Yanzhou County to Danyang County, leading to 17 County, and Wuhu was one of them. The name of Wuhu County started from here.
In the Five Dynasties, in the first year of Li Bian's reign in the Southern Tang Dynasty (937-943), Wuhu County was restored to jiangning house, and from then on to the Republic of China, Wuhu County remained unbroken.
1On April 24th, 949, the 88th Division of the 30th Army of the Third Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army liberated Wuhu.
1On August 27th, 952, the administrative offices in southern Anhui and northern Anhui were abolished, and the People's Government of Anhui Province was established. Wuhu City was directly under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province. Wuhu County still belongs to Wuhu District, and both Wuhu District and Wuhu County are in Wuhu City.
