The history of American nuclear energy
The United States is a pioneer in developing nuclear energy in the world. The first nuclear reactor used for power generation in the world is the experimental value-added reactor (EBR- 1) in Idaho, USA. The experiment started in February 2000, and the reactor 195 1. 1953, president Eisenhower signed the American plan of "peaceful development of nuclear energy", which is of great guiding significance to the development of nuclear power in the United States. In the same year, the US Atomic Energy Commission built a 60 MW demonstration PWR in Pennsylvania. The running time of the reactor is 1957 ~ 1982.

Westinghouse has designed the world's first fully commercialized 250 MW PWR, and its operation time is 1960 ~ 1992. The Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) designed the world's first boiling water reactor, and the first commercial boiling water reactor was designed by General Electric (GE), with a power of 250 MW, and started operation at 1960.

In 1960s, orders for PWR and BWR components above 1000 MW came one after another, and major nuclear power construction projects in the United States were in full swing. However, 1979 The accident at Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Station near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA seriously damaged the development of nuclear power in the United States. For this reason, many orders, contracts and projects have been cancelled or stranded, and the development of American nuclear industry has experienced a recession of nearly 20 years. It was not until 1990 and 100 that more than one commercial nuclear reactor was approved to start operation.

American nuclear energy has played a vital role in the development of American society and American economy. The development of nuclear energy has reduced America's dependence on imported oil and gas.

However, like the recent Fukushima nuclear power leak, there have been nuclear power leaks in American history. For example, on March 28th, 1979,/kloc-0, a nuclear power leak occurred at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in the United States, which would cause lasting and great harm to the environment and people's lives.
