The history of Wuling liquor
Changde was called Wuling in ancient times, and Wu Lingren has a long history of brewing. As early as the pre-Qin period, there was a custom of "drinking spring wine in January and January". In the Five Dynasties, it was famous for the wine produced by Cui Shi Restaurant, and there was a poem saying, "Cuijia wine in Wuling City should not be found in the sky on the ground". In the Song Dynasty, "Baiyuquan" wine was brewed here, which was called "Wuling Taoyuan Wine".

1952, Changde Winery was built on the old Cuijia Winery, which is said to have a history of thousands of years. The wine produced was named after the ancient place name and was called "Wuling Wine". In the late 1960s, with Chairman Mao returning to Hunan twice to settle down, the number of tourists from all over the world increased dramatically. As a special reception for Moutai, only 1 1,000 kg quota is supplied to Hunan every year, which is in short supply. Therefore, the Revolutionary Committee of Hunan Province decided to brew a special reception wine with the same taste and quality as Maotai. After several screenings, this task was given to Wuling Winery, on the grounds that the natural environment and geographical latitude of Wuling Winery are very close to those of Maotai Winery. At the same time, Bao Peisheng, then the director of Wuling Winery, and Ji Keliang, then the technical deputy director of Maotai Winery, were classmates of Suzhou Institute of Light Industry.

For the sake of the development of the wine industry in the chairman's hometown and the affection of the students, Maotai Distillery fully supports the research team led by Bao Peisheng. Finally, 1972, Maotai was successfully brewed with its exquisite and elegant style. 1988 was rated as a national famous liquor, and won the gold medal in the national high-quality liquor selection and the fifth national wine tasting (the actual holding time was 10/month 0989-1 9). The list of 17 liquors that won the gold medal in this issue is as follows: Moutai, Fenjiu, Wuliangye, Yanghe Daqu, Jiannanchun, Gu Jing Distillery, Dongjiu, xifeng liquor, Luzhou Laojiao Daqu, Quanxing Daqu, Shuanggou Daqu, special Yellow Crane Tower Liquor, Langjiu, Wuling Liquor, Baofeng Liquor, Song He Grain Liquid and Tuopai Daqu Liquor.
