The history of Yongcheng and Maqiao?
Yongcheng is the birthplace of Han Dynasty, and also the stratum and remains of Maqiao ancient cultural site.

First floor. Farming soil, yellow soil. 0~0.90 meters deep, a small number of modern bricks and tiles and Ming and Qing porcelain tiles were unearthed.

Second floor. Gray soil, 0.88 ~1.02m deep. Unearthed Song Dynasty glazed pottery bottles, carved porcelain bowls, copper coins from Bao Tong Shaosheng and Bao Tongxiang, yellow glazed tiles from the Tang and Wang Dynasties, etc. Tombs of the Five Dynasties were also found, and funerary objects such as celadon boxes from Yue kiln, glazed pottery pots from Huang Meng and residual bronze mirrors were unearthed.

Third floor. Grayish yellow soil,1.02 ~1.66m deep. Hard pottery pieces with rice screen grain, rice grain grain grain, hemp grain grain grain and zigzag grain, as well as primitive porcelain with turquoise or turquoise glaze were unearthed in the lower layer.

The fourth layer is dark gray soil, 1.65 ~ 2.30m deep. A large number of pottery, stones, bones, animal bones, ashes, etc. It has been unearthed, and a small number of bronzes have been unearthed. In pottery, sand red pottery has rope patterns, concave arc feet or tongue feet, conical feet and conical feet. Most argillaceous red pottery prints have basket pattern, vein pattern, mat pattern, checkered pattern and Yun Leiwen, and there are concave bottom pots, pots and duck-shaped pots. At the same time, a batch of gray pottery was unearthed, such as Zhang, Fu, Zun and Gui. , unearthed, used to print ribbon Yun Leiwen. Ash pits and burning pools were also found in the site. This is a typical relic of the early printed pottery culture in Taihu Lake area.

The fifth layer of blue-gray soil is 2. 10~2.70 meters deep. In addition to containing rare clay particles, there are also argillaceous ash, black pottery and sand-mixed pottery pieces mainly made of plain noodles, and the vessel types include full-foot cups, round-foot plates, wide-handle cups, ear-piercing pots, T-foot ding and so on. Architectural remains, clam shell pits and graves were also found. This layer is the Liangzhu culture layer.

It's under the fifth floor. This is a blue-gray soil layer. It is a crust sand belt extending in the north-south direction in the excavation site, with a width of about 45 meters and a thickness of more than 1.0~2 meters. The west side of the crustal sand belt is a 60-degree slope, and the east side is relatively flat with a small slope, and there are three beach ridges impacted by waves. In addition to sand, the components of shell sand are mainly shell fragments of Meretrix meretrix, clam and razor clam, as well as shells of oysters, Meretrix meretrix, snails and snails. This is an ancient coastal relic called Shen Gang.
