What business does the telecom company have now?
The establishment of market economy system has brought great changes to China telecom industry. After several major reforms, China Telecom has been reorganized into six major operators: China Telecom, China Netcom, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Tietong and China Satellite Communication.

Among them, China Telecom Group Company was formally established in May 2002.

So, where should the history of China telecom enterprises be counted? The industry has different views.

In my opinion, as an enterprise, China telecom industry should first determine the criteria and basis for its division, so as to explore its historical origin.

First, the criteria for division.

1, analyzed from the enterprise's attributes.

As the attribute of an enterprise, it is to provide products or services to consumers in order to obtain certain profits.

Pure official or military communication is related to the emergence of communication enterprises, but it cannot be regarded as the origin of enterprises.

2. Close relationship with China Telecom.

Where did China Telecom come from today? There should be a clear inheritance relationship before and after, and it should not be far-fetched.

Second, the source of China telecom enterprises

1, historical background

1840, western powers opened the door to China with artillery, and China society began to turn to semi-feudal and semi-colonial, thus opening the first page of modern communication history in China.

The sound of the Opium War awakened the people of China, and a large number of people of insight re-examined China's national conditions, which gave birth to the rise of the Westernization Movement.

In 1960s and 1990s, with the loss of China, the western telecom industry also attacked China on a large scale. On the one hand, they want to occupy China's telecom market, on the other hand, they also serve their aggression and plunder.

In this situation, 1868, the early reformist Wang Tao resolutely returned to China. He wrote: "There is no better planner than wire"; 1873, after returning from France, Wang Chengrong, an overseas Chinese businessman, made the first domestic telegram in China with Wang Bin, and wrote to Qing Qing to do his own telegram. He said: "Although China's post stations and bonfires are fast, they are not as fast as foreign telegrams"; 1875 Zheng said in "Yi Yan" that "telegrams benefit the country and the people, and it is imperative".

At that time, Li Hongzhang also began to change his views on telegrams, advocating that telegrams should be run by themselves to safeguard China Telecom.

On September 1880 and 16, a letter was written to request the establishment of a Tianjin-Shanghai telegraph to communicate with the north and south, which was approved by the Qing government two days later.

2. Time of establishment

1875, Ding Richang, the governor of Fujian, attached a telegraph school to Fujian Ship Administration School to train telegraph technicians, which was the first telegraph school in China. 1877, taking the opportunity of visiting Taiwan Province province, Ding Richang proposed the establishment of Taiwan Province telegraph bureau, and in the same year, the telegraph line from Kaohsiung to Tainan was built, which was the first telegraph line built and managed by China people themselves and opened a new chapter in China's telecommunication history.

From 65438 to 0879, Li Hongzhang built a telegraph line from the Arsenal to Li Hongzhang's yamen in Tianjin, which became the first military telegraph line independently built by Chinese mainland.

In the sixth year of Guangxu (1880), in mid-August, Li Hongzhang, Minister of Beiyang Trade, approved the establishment of the Tianjin-Shanghai telegraph line, formally established the Tianjin-Shanghai telegraph administration in Tianjin, and appointed Sheng Xuanhuai as the general manager.

It should be said that this is the historical origin of China Telecom as an enterprise.

In the seventh year of Guangxu (188 1), before the completion of the1/month-Tianjin-Shanghai line, it was officially named China General Telegraph Bureau.

3. Early official supervision and commercial office laid a good foundation for healthy development.

After Tianjin Shanghai Electric Wire was notified, it operated for four months and suffered great losses.

Since Li Hongzhang paid for the construction of the Tianjin-Shanghai telegraph line at that time, in order to repay the paid salary and further build the telegraph line, the General Administration of Telegraph started the IPO office on the first day of March (1882 April 18) in Guangxu eight years, and * * * raised 65,438+ten thousand silver dollars (per share 100 yuan).

Half of the collected funds are returned to the paid army, and the other half is used for the construction of telegraph lines.

Since the first day of March in the eighth year of Guangxu (1882), it has been changed into a government-supervised commercial office, issuing shares to raise funds, and returning the official gold and silver (Xiangping Silver178,700 or more) every year, listening to its self-report to supplement the funds.

Sheng Xuanhuai, Zheng, Jing Yuanshan, Xie Jiafu, Wang Ronghe and others. Collected 82,000 shares of Xiangping Silver as their initial capital.

4. Rapid development and good profits.

In the spring of Guangxu 10th year (1884), the General Administration moved from Tianjin to Shanghai. On the one hand, we negotiated with foreign companies for the discount right of telegrams, on the other hand, we coordinated the erection of various wires, and successively built several trunk lines such as Guangdong-Guangxi line, Jiangxi-Guangdong line, Zhili-Shaanxi line, Hubei-Sichuan line and Beijing-Qiketu line.

He also helped the government to establish several official routes.

The commercial and official lines are all over the provinces, especially Wan Li, which makes people breathless.

It also helped neighboring North Korea build more than 2,000 miles of power transmission lines.

In the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu (1908), there were 4 14 17 commercial lines, accounting for 45.56% of all telegraph lines.

China General Telegraph Administration is in good operating condition. Since the 20th year of Guangxu (1894), its profit has greatly increased, and the dividend per share has increased from more than 20 yuan in the 13th year of Guangxu (1887) to more than 35 yuan.

Shares with a par value of 100 yuan per share rose to 160 yuan.

Part of the profits are converted into capital. In the 25th year of Guangxu (1899), the total capital reached 2.2 million yuan.

In addition to paying a certain percentage of official profits to shareholders every year, bonuses ranging from 0% to 1% have also become the envy of the public.

5. Changes in management mode

In the eighth year of Guangxu (1882), in March, the official office was officially changed to the official and commercial office, which was called "Commercial and Electric Bureau" in history.

In the 20th year of Guangxu (1894), after the IPO of Tianjin-Shanghai Telegraph Administration was held, it was supervised by Qing * * *.

In November of the 28th year of Guangxu (1902), Yuan Shikai, the minister of Beiyang, played a quasi-telegram and was taken over by the government.

In March of the 29th year of Guangxu (1903), the General Administration of Commercial Telegrams was changed to an official system, but its name and authority remained unchanged.

In the thirty-third year of Guangxu (1907), after the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications took over telecommunications in March, the General Administration of Telegraph was reorganized into the Electric Power Bureau.

cleverness in trivial matters

1, China Telecom PHS wireless local telephone PHS wireless local telephone (PAS for short) adopts microcellular technology, realizes wireless coverage through microcellular base stations, and wirelessly connects the user end (i.e. wireless local telephone handset) to the local telephone network, which is an extension of the traditional fixed telephone and a beneficial supplement to the fixed telephone in a specific period.

Clear language

Because the system adopts 32KADPCM coding mode, the call quality is close to that of ordinary fixed telephone.

The transmission power is extremely low. The transmitting power of PHS mobile phone is only 10MW, so it won't feel uncomfortable when used for a long time.

Long standby time "PHS" mobile phone uses lithium battery, the standby time can reach 500-800 hours, and the continuous call time can reach 8 hours. Under normal circumstances, it can be used continuously for 4-5 days without charging or a second battery.

On February 3, 2009, after China's 3G licenses were officially issued, the competent authorities also allocated 3G bands to three telecom operators, and recently explicitly required all wireless access systems in 1900- 1920MHz band to clear their frequencies and withdraw from the network before the end of 201kloc-0/to ensure that TD-SCDMA systems will not be generated.

This means that the 1900- 1920Mhz frequency band occupied by the existing PHS will officially give way to the development of domestic 3G technology TD-SCDMA.

Previously, because China's 3G license has not been issued, this 3G band was used by China Telecom and the former China Netcom to develop PHS and Dalingtong services, and it still has nearly 70 million users.

This time, the competent authorities will unconditionally take back the frequency band resources occupied by the existing PHS and Dalingtong, and explicitly require China Telecom and China Unicom to take measures to ensure that wireless access methods such as PHS in this frequency band will not cause harmful interference to the network signals of China's 3G standard TD-SCDMA, and make relevant withdrawal plans. According to the requirements of the * * * department, the logout work must be completed before the end of 20 1 1.

This cancellation may be like a pager, and PHS is just a flash in the pan.
