Creative background:

1, "Rolling the Yangtze River East"

1993 Wang Fulin, the general director of the TV series Romance of the Three Kingdoms, invited five composers, including Gu Jianfen, to audition the theme song, which was decided by other creative staff of the cast. A few months later, Gu Jianfen, who was collecting wind, was recalled to Beijing.

Wang Fulin told her that this time four men and one woman unanimously passed her work and found out that she was a woman. A leader thinks the romance of the Three Kingdoms is a heroic song, so don't ask a female composer to write it.

So, Gu Jianfen took the contributed music back, went home to rewrite it, and finally created "Rolling the Yangtze River to the East".
