The fire lasted for many days, water and electricity facilities were destroyed, and the British and French embassies and American churches were not spared. The essence of the whole city was destroyed. After the bombing, bodies lying on pillows were everywhere, and the remains of hands, feet, head, abdominal organs and so on were everywhere. On the wires and branches, there are also broken arms and limbs and bloody clothes. This scene is shocking and terrible.

These two explosions damaged 487/KLOC-0 buildings in Chongqing, causing 399/KLOC-0 citizens to die, 2,287 people injured and countless property losses. In Du You Street alone, 65,438+05 silk shops were destroyed and 65,438+067,200 pieces of cloth were lost. There are 0/7 private banks in the city.

On May 5, ten major newspapers in Chongqing, such as Current Affairs News, Ta Kung Pao, News, Xinhua Daily, National Daily, Sweeping Daily, Central Daily, Business Daily, Xinmin Daily and Southwest Daily, were bombed by Japanese planes, causing obstacles in water, electricity, transportation and printing.
