In view of China's direct sacrifice of too many lessons in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, President Mao Zedong took the mode of Dien Bien Phu (a town in the northwest of Vietnam) to participate in the war indirectly in 1954. That is, North Vietnam came forward to fight the United States head-on, and China fully provided strategic, tactical, personnel and material support behind it. Of course, if the US military goes deep into North Vietnam, it will change to the model of "resisting US aggression and aiding Korea" and send volunteers to participate in the war directly. As a result, from beginning to end, the US ground troops did not cross the line. North Vietnam is poor and backward. It is conceivable that without China's full support in politics, military affairs, economy, transportation, logistics and personnel, how could Viet Nam resist the crazy attack and aerial bombardment of 540,000 modern American ground forces?
