Hexi affairs, located on the west bank of the North Canal, was originally named Hexi. It used to be a place for berthing and repairing ships. It was once called Hexi Wharf. Later, because the Ministry of Housing set up a branch here and became a very famous customs for collecting taxes and bills, it was officially named Hexi Affairs, and it has been closely related to it since then.

As early as the ninth year of Jian 'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (in 204), it took three years for Cao Cao, Emperor Wu of Wei, to rule Hebei and crusade against Wuhuan. First, the famous white ditch in history was dug, which enabled the canals in the north and south of the Yellow River to be connected. Since then, the Pinglu Canal has been dug northward (both ditches and canals are ancient names of canals), so that this north-south canal extends to the unique flow direction of Tianjin Jinghai and is connected with Haihe River. While digging the Pinglu Canal, another canal was dug from Youzhou (now Beijing) to Tianjin. This canal and Pinglu Canal will be connected in quanzhou county (formerly known as Wuqing) and named Quanzhou Canal. At this point, Cao Cao's Grand Canal system connecting the north and south of China was initially formed. At that time, although Shui Gu (North Canal) was not brought into the mainstream, it was connected with the Grand Canal water system, creating conditions for the formation of densely populated villages and towns. The origin of Hexi affairs can be traced back to this period. After the Yuan Dynasty unified China, with Beijing as its capital, the center of political power began to move northward. At that time, most of the population had exceeded 400 thousand, and all military supplies and civilian use were given to Jiangnan. Therefore, at the beginning of Dingding, the Grand Canal was dredged. In the seventh year of Yuan Dynasty (1270), Kublai Khan of Yuan Shizu adopted the inscription of Guo Shoujing, the governor of water conservancy, and called more than 2.5 million yuan in tribute. At the waist of the Grand Canal in the Sui Dynasty, more than 250 miles of canals were dug on the ground. This section of the river starts from Jeju in the south and ends in Linqing in the north. By cutting and straightening, the original river course was shortened by more than 700 miles at once, and was named Huitong River by Yuan Shizu. In the 13th year of Zhiyuan (1276), Guo Shoujing proposed to abandon Yongji Canal and use Luhe Waterway from Tongzhou to Tianjin. Yuan Shizu made a small change and ordered the construction. This section of the river is now the North Canal. It takes a straight ditch from Sunjiawu in the west of Xianghe River, passes through Hexi, Mengcun, Caicun and Yangcun, and still takes barnyard grass ditch to the south and pours into Tianjin Haihe River. After it was completed in the 17th year of Yuan Dynasty (1280), it was still called Luhe, and it was renamed North Canal at the end of Ming Dynasty. In the 29th year of Yuan Dynasty (1292), Yuan Shizu adopted Guo Shoujing's suggestion and dug a grain river from Tongzhou to Gyeonggi. The campaign lasted more than a year and employed more than 2.8 million people. Through the above three major projects, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has been reduced to more than 3,500 miles, and the veritable Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has been formally finalized.

The North Canal was formally incorporated into the main line of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal from 1280. Due to its unique geographical advantages, Hexi affairs have become the fortress of Gyeonggi and the throat of water transportation. In the following hundreds of years, it has been an important town in JD.COM, with a high official position and extremely prosperous materials.

In 608 AD, Yang Di dug the Grand Canal and opened the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. Hexi affairs is named after its proximity to the west bank of the canal. After the Yuan Dynasty made Beijing its capital, all the military supplies and salaries were returned to the south of the Yangtze River, and Hexi affairs became the waterway throat in and out of Kyoto. Therefore, there are as many as thirteen yamen, such as money gates, post stations and military equipment, which are set up by the imperial courts in the past dynasties. The highest rank is Zhengsanpin, which shows that Hexi affairs have a prominent position. In the sixth year of Qin Long (1572), Hexi Affairs built a brick city. After the founding of New China, the people of Hexi Affairs, under the leadership of China, have made unprecedented achievements and written a new chapter in history after more than half a century of hard struggle. 1976 after the Tangshan earthquake, the town moved to both sides of the Beijing-Tianjin highway. It is 60 kilometers away from Beijing and Tianjin, right in the middle of the two cities. After more than 20 years of development, Hexi Affairs has now become a new small town. The spring tide of reform and opening up has promoted the rapid economic development. In 20001year, the town achieved a GDP of 340 million yuan, township-level fiscal revenue of10.997 billion yuan, and rural per capita net income of 4,850 yuan, and its economic strength and people's living standards reached a high level. To this end, Hexi affairs has been among the famous towns in Tianjin for many years.

On the high position of its officials, it is enough to make the superior counties far behind, even more unusual than the general towns and villages. Therefore, there are many descriptions of Hexi affairs from national history, county annals to poems and classics. Because of its prominent position and prosperous market, it was called the first town in JD.COM as early as the Ming Dynasty. In order to enrich the history of Wuqing and explore the canal culture, this paper integrates a volume of Ancient Things in Hexi, including 20 short articles, and sorts out historical materials and rumors related to Hexi events from different angles. From the map, Hexi Affairs is located in the middle of Tianjin and Beijing, and it is a famous big town and ancient town. China's famous artificial Grand Canal and Beijing-Tianjin Highway extend southward along the east and west sides of the town. The book "Awakening the World" records the story of Hexi affairs during the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty. The book "Yongqing Shengping" also records the story of Zhang Guangtai in Hexi Affairs in Qing Dynasty.
