The name of Rammstein began to form as early as 1993. This is a German place name. An air show of the US Air Force was held here, but it turned out to be a tragedy: the plane crashed and 80 people were killed or injured. In modern German, "Ramstein" means a stone siege vehicle, and its concise name is "chariot". The first founder, Richard Kruspe Spe, was the guitarist of the band. Later, Christoph Schneider, Oliver Riedel, Paul Landers, Flake Lorenz and Till Lindermann joined in succession.

Their music is full of power, which is a typical rock style of heavy metal+industrial rhythm+electronics, and an exaggerated and abnormal stage performance. This style is called shocking rock by music critics. They are undoubtedly the most representative band of this music style. Judging from the rhythm of their songs, most of them use a very popular dance rhythm-that is, a simple 4/4 beat, and the same beat is repeated with the distorted guitar with sampling, forming a feeling that people are excited and want to dance for no reason. Most of the background samples they use are clear and elegant, not as obscure and heavy as traditional industrial music, nor as noisy and disorderly as industrial noise. In singing, I feel like a German, and my deep male voice is like the end of the world.

1995, Rammstein signed a contract with Motor Music /Polygram and released their first exclusive "Herzeleid" (Heartache). This album immediately entered the German music charts. Like a miracle demonstration, this album has been on the charts for two years.

1996 65438+ 10, Rammstein released the single "seemann". They wanted the famous American director david lynch, who was popular all over the world with Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks and Wild My Heart, to make an MTV for them, but they were forced to give up because they couldn't spare the time. Because david lynch likes Ramstein's music very much, he added khairat Mitch and Ramstein to the upcoming film The Lost Highway. With this opportunity, most Americans met Ramstein for the first time.

1996165438+1October, Rammstein entered the recording studio and began to record their second album, Sehnsucht. As soon as this work came out, Ramstein's influence made a great breakthrough, and soon developed to places outside Central European countries such as Germany/Switzerland/Austria, and Ramstein became a world-renowned band. The album's first single, Engel, was released in April, 1997, which made it to No.1 12 in the American charts for the first time. In less than two months, "Engel" reached the gold sales record. In July of the same year, the second single "Du Hast" was released, and then in August, "Sehnsuch" came out and topped the American charts.

After the release of Sehnsucht, the band began a non-stop tour in continental Europe, with an audience of 65,438+00,000 to 30,000. The album immediately topped the German music charts, and then took the charts in Switzerland and Austria at lightning speed. Within a few weeks, Sehnsucht's achievements in various national rankings entered the cumulative list of Billboard Europe, knocking down a bunch of big names such as Prodigy, Radio Commander and Rolling Stone. The fanaticism caused by this band just got out of control. A series of successes have strongly proved that Ramstein has crossed many regional and language barriers and realized the global enjoyment of music. On the other hand, German is really the most suitable language for Ramstein's music. In the sharp and intense guitar improvisation, Ramstein's gloomy style coincides with Thiel's heavy and compassionate voice and with the pronunciation characteristics of German. And its electronic sound effects, jungle beats and so on. Add a sad atmosphere, like the sarcastic voice in the Bible, which is cold but unbridled.

1998, the band was invited by Kiss to participate in the South American concert tour. That is to say, in the same year, the trip to family values with Cohen, ice cube, Carnival and Bizkit made remarkable achievements, which made Ramstein's performance a topic that fans talked about.

1999, the band released the album Live Aus Berlin, which has two versions: American and German. It was recorded for more than two days at the Woodward venue, and the live effect was very obvious. When the red light fell like a meteor, all the band members were armed to the teeth and looked awed. Anyone who has seen it will understand that they are behind numerous violent incidents. Whether from the music itself or from the lyrics, Rammstein seems to have the ultimate right to release violence.

1On April 20th, 999, two teenagers with guns committed suicide in Columbine, USA. Before that, they all shot and killed 13 people. In this regard, Ramstein, together with Marilyn Manson and KMFDM, was accused of having something to do with the music that the two gunmen liked to listen to because their lyrics contained a lot of violence. So all three of them were forced to issue a statement condemning the incident.

In 2000, they went to the Fuji Rock Music Festival in Japan. Their first performance successfully expanded their reputation to the Asian region, and then established a solid audience.

In 200 1 year, their latest album "Mute" was successfully released. In the first week of its release, this album won the first place in the German album list, and it also achieved good results in Top 5 in the British gold list, Top 10 in Australia, Top 14 in Canada and Top 12 in Norway. Compared with Ramstein's previous musical style, Mutt has not changed much. It is still a magnificent improvisational repetition of heavy metal guitar, sonorous industrial March, Gothic female fans and gloomy German lyrics, which is shocking.
