Pingjiang Historic District is located in the northeast corner of Suzhou ancient city. It is the most complete and largest historical block in Suzhou so far, and it can be called the epitome of the ancient city of Suzhou. Today's Pingjiang historic district still basically maintains the double chessboard pattern of "land and water parallel, river and street adjacent" and the unique style of "small bridge with flowing water and white walls and tiles", and has accumulated extremely rich historical relics and cultural landscapes. There are 1 World Cultural Heritage "European Garden" (Asia-Pacific World Heritage Training and Research Center), 1 China Kunqu Museum, a representative exhibition area of human oral and intangible cultural heritage, and 100 cultural relics, city walls, rivers, bridges, streets, houses, gardens, halls and temples in many provinces and cities.
