The custom of Fengting
The custom of celebrating the Lantern Festival in Fengting was inherited from the Song Dynasty. From the 13th to 17th of the first month, it was conducted in turn by four communities in the market town area, namely, Xia Qiao, Xia Jie, You Lan, Bachelor and Beimen Natural Village in Xia Jie. The Lantern Festival in Fengting has a long history. It is said that it originated from the Northern Song Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty (1046). At that time, many Fengting people were officials in the DPRK. They sent the unique lighting style of Kyoto Lantern Temple back to their hometown, and combined it with the lantern festival in their hometown to form a lantern festival with unique regional flavor. "The bright moon flows all over the street, and the spring lights look up at the stars." In ancient times, the Fengting Lantern Festival was already in southern Fujian. In June, 2008, the custom of playing lanterns in Fengting was listed in the national intangible cultural heritage list.

Hongmei welcomes the spring, and the spring is harmonious. On the 13th to 17th day of the first lunar month, the wind pavilion is dressed in festive costumes. From the foot of Tadou Mountain to Xia Qiao community, from Cai Xiang Cemetery to You Lan Street, from the beard shed of the Song Dynasty to Guli Chiling, China lanterns are hung everywhere, colorful flags are fluttering, and fireworks are like rainbows, showing a moving landscape of "the whole city is watching the lights, and every household is empty". The loudspeakers on the floats are playing beautiful music, colorful stripes and big slogans of pictures are flashing, and thousands of young and middle-aged people are holding up exquisite and colorful flowerpot lamps, nine carp jumping lamps, centipede exorcism lamps, loose umbrella lamps and colorful racks. Tractors are exquisitely decorated with the goddess of the Straits, the Eight Immortals crossing the sea, the spring grass rushing into the hall, the colorful fragrance, the famous and special products with strong modern flavor, the modeling of Fengting Industrial Park and township enterprises, which vividly shows the vigorous development of economic and cultural construction in the ancient town. Double lions have fun, double dragons play with pearls, and jade rabbits bless. They are skilled and magnificent. The spectacular lineup of women's military bands, drums and waist drums is even more eye-catching, and the youthful charm of "Half the Sky" galloping business travel is unique. Who doesn't bow their heads and envy? There are also humorous performances of dressing up as women, singing and dancing, and dancing street dance, which makes people laugh. The grand lantern festival was unprecedented. Every program devoted the wisdom and painstaking efforts of the people in Fengting, showing the charm of ancient and modern lantern art. No wonder the Emperor of Song Dynasty saw the lantern and wrote a poem "Inviting Yuan Ye's unparalleled scenery to attract the first spring of Fengjiang River".

The grand Lantern Festival affects Chinese and foreign guests. Overseas Chinese, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who come here admire the artistic style of the Fengting Lantern Festival, and say, "Moonlight on the doorstep in how bright! The lights in my hometown are red. " People in Putian, Hui 'an, Licheng, Laidian, Bangtou, Longhua and other towns and villages specially drove to Fengting to join the lantern viewing trend. In the late Qing Dynasty, the situation was turbulent. Coupled with the dispute over black and white flags, the people are even more miserable. On this occasion, initiated by Zhu Village and Lindong Village, Xiajiang Village actively participated in a series of secret activities, and gradually joined Xiujiao Village, Ding Dong Village and Cangxi Village to form a civil self-defense organization with "six townships" as the main body. The establishment of "Baohetang" is to commemorate the patriotic famous Yang Wulang (Yang Gong Taishi) in the Song Dynasty, to publicize loyalty, filial piety, loyalty to the country and love for the people, to carry forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, to promote the good and suppress the evil, to resist the strong and help the weak, to correctly handle the extremely complicated dispute of "black and white flags" at that time, to turn enemies into friends and to create a harmonious society. Fame is getting bigger and bigger, prestige is getting bigger and bigger, and influence is getting bigger and bigger, and it has developed to 36 towns and villages. 1985, two more villages, Xi CuO and Ma Xia, joined, becoming 38 townships with a population of nearly 50,000.

During the Lantern Festival, 38 natural villages in Linshan Palace in Fengting Town held routine outings and lantern tours, with more than 2,000 participants. When traveling, use "soap dance" to lead the way, followed by big gongs, headlights, colorful flags, banners, palace flags, golden claw axes, dragon and tiger flags, deacons, gun classes, wind bands, cavalry, dragon dances, lion dances, class eight, gods, high officials, short officials, incense pavilions, magic cars and various colorful driving teams. Zhuzhai is the collective name of Hai 'an Village, Haibin Village and Heping Village. "Zhuzhai Parade", also known as "Zhuzhai Palace Tour", is a collective "outing" street activity organized by dozens of villages named Zhu east of Fengting. Travel time, generally from the last Yuan Festival to the end of the month, farmers use their leisure time to hold large-scale mass cultural and entertainment demonstrations. Men and women volunteered to join the outing team. Old people are over 80 years old, and young people are children aged 5-6. Thousands of people lined up, colorful flags fluttered all the way, drums were loud, and spectators lined up all the way, which was very lively. Travel teams include: big gongs, colorful flags, banners, billboards, ancient bronzes, dragon and tiger flags, deacons, officials, flower girl, Ten Tones, Eight Tones, car and drum teams, military bands, horse watching teams, dragons and lions, Class Eight, soap merchants, gods, flag officials, senior officials and short officials, and so on. Along the way, gongs and drums were loud, singing and dancing were peaceful, and the trendy Dirsk dance, couples dance and friendship dance were all in an endless stream, or they danced live, performed on stage, or danced while walking, singing and dancing with ancient soap operas, sedan chair dance, umbrella dance and dragon dance, blending ancient and modern, showing their charm, which reflected the villagers' welcome to auspicious places.

Children stepping on fire is a major feature of Zhuzhai parade. It has been a long time since a child stepped on fire. Whenever Zhu Zhai parades the bodhisattva back to the palace, Tong Ying's "Treading on Fire" is staged in front of Zhu Zhai Palace. According to tradition, a big wooden stake will be erected in front of Zhuzhai Grand Palace and lit before the parade returns to the palace. When the woodpile is burnt to charcoal, five or six Tong Ying will take turns to step on the fire barefoot without any burns. If the gods are blessed by King Kong, it will surprise the insiders. The first child to come out crossed the fire with a flag in his hand, and then five or six children ran out of Zhuzhai Palace and stepped on the fire dozens of times. Everyone felt the heat of the fire at close range and admired the courage of the baby to step on the fire. Dongzhai Temple Fair is a folk activity held in 53 natural villages, including Dongzhai Village, Xiashe Village, Shantou Village, Xin 'an Village, Xibei Village, Rancuo Village, Tangbian Village and Gushi Village, to offer sacrifices to Lord Jin and the Ten Halls.

From the Tang Dynasty to the Song Dynasty, 66 people entered the Dongzhai Jinshi list. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Yongchun stayed in primary school and moved to Chihuju (now Fengting Dongzhai Village is a natural village), and later became the King of Jinjiang in the Five Dynasties; Cai Jing, a native of Chiling, visited five times, and so did his brother Cai Bian. Cai Xiang, a bachelor of Duanming Temple in Song Dynasty, once lived here. Deputy Commander Tang Yiwei was buried in front of Chen's tomb in Chihu (now Dongzhai Village Fruit Farm) after his death. Rich historical and cultural accumulation has influenced folk belief activities, and it is also an important foundation for the formation of "Dongzhai Temple Fair".

When he moved from primary school to his residence, he donated a "stone worship" to the village, which is still preserved today; The ancestral graves of Cai Jing and Cai Bian are located at the foot of Yangjiaozhai Mountain in the north of Dongzhai Village. It has become an indispensable etiquette for Chua's family to sacrifice graves in Tomb-Sweeping Day and the winter solstice every year. These sacrificial activities promoted the formation of the folk custom "Dongzhai Temple Fair", which was passed down and developed from generation to generation.

Dongzhai Temple was originally a small temple in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and it was a place for local people to worship common gods. Legend has it that during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a flood here, and a picture scroll floated from the upstream and hung on a tree. After that, for several nights in a row, the surrounding villagers heard the voices of Sihe Temple and Propaganda Temple in the small temple, and the villagers were very surprised. So, they found the axis of the painting and decided that it must be the expression of the painting. Student Chen Qingyun immediately mobilized people to rebuild Dongzhai Temple. Since then, the incense of Dongzhai Temple has become more and more prosperous, and the number of believers has expanded from the initial five palaces (five villages) to the fifty-third palace (fifty-three villages). A large number of overseas believers have also come to worship, and the temple fair is even more spectacular. Every year on the 18th day of the first lunar month and the 1st day of May, believers from 53 villages gather in Dongzhai Temple to hold a grand temple fair. During the temple fair, Dongzhai Temple organized lantern festivals, visiting gods and offering sacrifices.

The sacrificial activities of "Dongzhai Temple Fair" are decorated with lanterns and colorful banquets, with Sanzhai, Liuguo, Sanji and Wuci as decorations, and are offered by the ten halls of Yan and Jinda. There is a stage outside the temple, performing and playing ten tones and eight music for three days. Believers in 53 villages and root-seeking believers from all directions burn incense and worship Buddha, donate money and burn tribute silver, light firecrackers, reward God's grace, pray for peace and good luck, good weather, national peace and prosperity, and local prosperity.

The "Dongzhai Temple Fair" held a lantern festival on the 16th day of the first lunar month. The main temple is held by six villages in Dongzhai, and each household has a string of 65,438+00 lanterns. At the same time, various light tours of the temples of the gods were held in the local area. On the 18th of the first lunar month and the 1st of May, the "Dongzhai Temple Fair" held a statue parade. The board of directors of the main temple organized believers to carry sedan chairs and statues, and sounded gongs to clear the way. Plaques, colorful flags, flags, deacons, soap operas, Class Eight, magic soldiers, cavalry, artillery squads, bands and literary teams playing stories of historical figures formed a mighty procession, with the number of participants reaching 65,430. Temples and temples are decorated with incense tables, and the band welcomes them. Believers in the transit villages also greeted them, burning fireworks, setting off firecrackers, burning tribute silver and donating beans to God. The audience was like a cloud all the way, and it was very lively.

After thousands of years, "Dongzhai Temple Fair" retains the unique folk culture of traditional folk beliefs in Xinghua area, which is an important basis for studying local beliefs and customs, and plays an important role in protecting folk culture, enriching active rural cultural life, promoting people's unity and building a harmonious society. 20 13 May, with the approval of Putian Municipal People's Government, "Dongzhai Temple Fair" was included in the fourth batch of municipal intangible cultural heritage list.
