The Historical Evolution of Li Antang Town
Li Antang Town (also known as Zhangliantang and Lianxi) and its surrounding areas belonged to the State of Wu in the Spring and Autumn Period, and were destroyed by the State of Wu in the Warring States Period and then by the State of Chu, which was the fief of Huang Xie, Shen Jun, Chu.

Qin unified the whole country to establish a county system, which belonged to Youquan County and Loujun County in Huiji County in the Western Han Dynasty, Wu State in the Three Kingdoms Period, Kunshan County in Suzhou City in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Liang and Chen Counties in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and states and counties in Huinan Province in the Tang Dynasty. The Song and Yuan Dynasties belonged to Changzhou and Wujiang counties, and the Ming Dynasty belonged to Suzhou prefecture.

In the second year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1724), it was placed under the jurisdiction of Wujiang, Yuanhe and Qingpu counties. During the light years of the Qing dynasty, the inspection departments of the Yuan, Wu and Qing dynasties were all located here.

In the second year of Xuantong (19 10), the planting areas of Zhangliantang Wujiang County and Yuanhe County in Jiangsu Province entered Qingpu, including Nanhenggang, Nanzhongbin, Yachebin, Yangdangwan, Beizhuang West Village and Yujiabin Village in Wujiang County. Nanzhang, Cai Xi, Wangjiadu, Hedang, Yongqiao, Tangan, Tianwan, Garden, Hejiadai, Li Hui, Youjiajing, Beizhuang East Village, Wang Jiacun, Yujiadian, Hejiatan, Lujiabin, Gaojiadai, Maokou, Youjia Village and Xiajia Village in Yuanhe County. After the merger with the large and small steaming townships, Xiping Township was established in Xiping City, Zhang Zheng, and was under the unified jurisdiction of the three townships. 19 14, Xiping City, Zhang Zheng was dissolved, and the villages were still established according to the original system. In the Republic of China 18 (1929), Qingpu County changed its name to 13, in which Zhangliantang Township and Daxiaozheng Township were merged into Zhang Zheng District, and the original jurisdiction remained unchanged.

In 22 years (1933), the Commissioner's Office was established in Zhang Zheng.

In the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934), the county was divided into eight districts. Maodian and Qianjin Village belong to the Pearl River Delta. Gu Xiang and Ganzhuang belong to Xiping District. The rest of the villages belong to Zhang Zheng District.

In the 24th year of the Republic of China (1935), villages and towns were reorganized. The whole county is merged into seven districts, 1 town, 1 office of rural waste Commissioner, and Zhangliantang is the third district. Under its jurisdiction, Li Antang Town is divided into three towns: market town, Lianbei, Liannan and Huandang.

In the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), during the occupation of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Li Antang Town established a maintenance society, with its president He Yalin, still called the third district office. During the Wang Puppet Period (1940 ~ 1945), there were eight districts in the county, and Zhangliantang District was called the seventh district, with five townships, namely, Lianxi, Lianbei, Huandang and Maodian.

In the thirty-fourth year of the Republic of China (1945), Qingpu County withdrew its district and set up a township. The villages under the jurisdiction of Li Antang District were changed to Li Antang Town, Li Andong, Lianxi, Lianbei, Huandang and Maodian Township.

In the thirty-fifth year of the Republic of China (1946), it was changed to the district office system, with more than 5,000 households as towns and more than 3,000 households as townships, and 27 townships were established throughout the county. There are 1 town and 2 townships in the local area, namely Li Antang Town, Lianxi Town and Liannan Town.

In the thirty-sixth year of the Republic of China (1February, 947), Qingpu County established two special zones, and Qingxi was the electricity and trade zone. There are 13 townships in the county, and each town has a town office. Lianxi Township and Liannan Township were revoked and merged into Li Antang Town, which lasted until liberation on May 3rd 1949.

1949, 8 districts in the county, 1 city and 6 1 township, belonging to the joint office of 1 township. There are three townships and one town: Waidang, Nanmao, Beimao and liantang town. The villages under its jurisdiction, Zhonglian and Wang Jiacun are all part of Li Antang Town.

1957, the county has three towns and 18 townships. Some villages in Dang Wei Township merged with Nanmao Township and Beimao Township, and the original organizational system of Li Antang Town remained unchanged.

1958, the county was established 17 People's Commune, and Li Antang Town merged with Maodang Township to form Li Antang People's Commune.

1962, the scale of people's commune was adjusted, and Nanyang and Qian Sheng two brigades were separated from Li Antang commune and merged into Liansheng commune.

1966, with the approval of the State Council, Li Antang market town broke away from Li Antang commune and resumed the town system.

1984, Li Antang Township was established after the separation of government and society. Li Antang Commune continues to exist as an economic cooperation unit, and Li Antang market town is still a county-owned town.

199 1 year 1 month, Qingpu County adjusted its administrative divisions. Li Antang Town and Li Antang Town were demolished from two buildings and merged into one, and Li Antang Town was newly built.
