Myths and legends of Wenfeng Pagoda
As for the construction of Wenfeng Pagoda, there is a magical and beautiful fairy tale circulating among the people. It is said that there lived a grumpy dragon in Wenfeng Mountain. It often haunts between Minjiang River and Wenfeng Mountain. Whenever it is in a bad mood, it will rampage in the Minjiang River, constantly rolling up waves and launching floods, seriously endangering the peaceful life of the people on both sides of the strait. Hard-working and brave people will not give in to the threat of dragons. People United and made up their minds to launch a deadly counterattack against this hateful dragon. They have a big plan and come up with a way to destroy the dragon, that is, to build Wenfeng Tower at the top of Wenfeng Mountain, and put the hateful dragon permanently under Wenfeng Mountain, so that this dragon will never bring people painful floods again. But the story is a story after all. The reason why the ancients built Wenfeng Pagoda 400 years ago is still unknown.

The eighth batch of cultural relics protection units in Sichuan Province was officially approved and announced, and Wenfeng Pagoda, Jiujing Yudian, Xiong Kewu's former residence, Fujian Ji and other cultural relics protection units in our city 10 were successfully declared.

"Outside the Tianyuan Tower, the shadows are floating, and the willows are dipped in Bess." This is a poem sung by Li Yuanmo, a scholar in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, for Wenfeng Pagoda. "The setting sun moves the tower shadow and falls here coldly. The pool surface is like Dan, and the spire is like a cone. " (Longjiaochi) During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, Qin Gongbei once sang this song about Wenfeng Pagoda.

Wenfeng Ancient Pagoda is both poetic and legendary. There are many legends about its origin. It is said that a long time ago, Wenfeng Pagoda was carried by a fairy from a distant fairy mountain. He also said that Wenfeng Pagoda came from Lion Mountain in Yunfeng Temple, Daxing Township, or went to Guandou Mountain in Xiadu Township to recite monks all night. In Wenfeng Village, there is still a legend that "monks carry the White Pagoda". However, I feel its age and truth from its weathered mottled masonry. The twenty-sixth edition of Qianwei County Records wrote: "In the thirty-fourth year of Bingwu, Wenfeng Pagoda was built in Wenbishan." "Wenbi Mountain" is Wenfeng Mountain; "Thirty-four years of Bingwu", that is, thirty-four years of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (1606), has a history of more than 400 years.

Wenfeng Tower is located in Group 4, Wenfeng Village, Longkong Town, Qianwei County. It stands at the top of Wenfeng Mountain, with an altitude of 485.7 meters and a height of 9 stories and more than 30 meters. Overlooking Wenfeng Pagoda, the sky rises like a giant pen dipped in ink, written between blue sky and green hills. There are spiral stone steps in the tower, which spiral up to the top of the tower. There are windows on each floor of the middle tower, through which you can see the distant mountains and the near water. There is a shrine behind every window, with statues and bodhisattvas with different expressions. The top of the tower is octagonal, and a copper bell is hung on each corner. When the wind blows, things strike, and the bells are melodious ten miles away. There is a treasure top on the spire, which shines in the sunlight. The tower is beautifully shaped and flawless. If it is in the evening and touched by the sunset, it will be more charming. Unfortunately, the top of the tower and the fourth floor of the tower have long been removed, and the bronze bells in all directions at the top of the tower don't know where they are. It is gratifying that in 2004, Qianwei County has repaired the demolished tower top and four-story tower body. Although the eight clocks in all directions can't be restored and the old ones can't be completely restored, they always put "a pen" in the air and "want to write in the air". Today's Wenfeng Pagoda is a Leshan-level cultural relics protection unit.

The Wenfeng Pagoda, which is full of literary flavor, is always covered with a layer of literary flavor. It was also a long time ago that Wenfeng Mountain was also called Wenbi Mountain, and it was still a small hill. There is a scholar named Wenfeng who comes here every morning and evening to study and practice calligraphy. Wenfeng worked hard, read thousands of books and practiced every word perfectly. It's time for the big exam again. Wenfeng bid farewell to the villagers, took the bookcase and went to Beijing to catch the exam. Before I left, I swore to my fellow villagers that if I didn't go to high school, I would never be a man. After an exam, Wenfeng's article could have been the best in the world, but the examination paper was lost by the examiner, and Wenfeng had no chance to accept the interview of the emperor.

After studying hard for ten years, my heart is cold. Wenfeng failed the list, indignant, and lamented that God was unfair. He felt very guilty when he thought of what he said to the villagers before the exam. However, Wenfeng returned to his hometown. Once again, he came to Wenbi Mountain, where he had studied hard. He sat alone for a long time, clutching his pen and pointing to the sky. I don't know how long it took before Wenfeng's volley pen became a permanent white tower. Wenfeng stared at the sky for a long time, not eating or drinking. Over time, it became a towering mountain. Later, people called this mountain, the incarnation of Wenfeng scholars, the peak of composition and Wenfeng's penholder tower, Wenfeng Tower.

The story of Wenfeng scholar may be sad, but it can be read that the ancestors worked hard to gain fame and fortune, and the scholar was ill-fated. On the other hand, we can also appreciate the indomitable spirit of learning for others and striving for self-improvement.

As one of the "eight scenic spots", "Longtan Spring Water" and "Pond" of the Confucian Temple are closely related to Wenfeng Pagoda in the poems and folklore of literati. "Qianwei County Records" contains: The moon rises at sunset, and the Wenbishan Pagoda is reflected in it. There used to be a saying that jade pens touch the pool. According to legend, when Longchi is full of water, it stands on the left side in front of Longchi Academy. Looking eastward, Wenfeng Pagoda Peak is reflected in the water, just like a "jade brush touching the pool", also known as "the evening peak reflects far away". It is also said that "the jade pen touches the Dan pool" is a wonder that Wenfeng Tower is reflected in the pool next to the Confucian Temple. Both Longchi and Danchi, a jade pen touched by the pool, are a spectacle full of poetic and profound cultural connotations.

When you climb the Wenfeng Tower, you can visit the other mountains all appear dwarfs under the sky. and see all directions. You can see Lion Mountain in Daxing in the east, bordering Zigong and Yibin, Liangshan Mountains in the west, Huangwu in Cuiping Mountain in Yibin in the south and Jinding in Emei Fairy Mountain in the north. Standing on the Wenfeng Tower overlooking the surging Minjiang River, "thousands of people hold hands to watch the day" (in the past, people used to pull optical fibers) and "watch thousands of lights at night" (county lights). Overlooking the Minjiang River from Wenfeng Pagoda, the scenery of one river (Minjiang River), one river (mabian river) and three dams (Huangqiba, Airport Dam and Luojiang Dam) is infinite.

It is said that the construction of Wenfeng Pagoda was originally located in Mustard Mountain, not far from the ruins. As soon as Mr. Kan Yu set up his compass, he was about to look at this feng shui when Mustard Mountain trembled. Mr. Kan Yu said that this mountain is not suitable and can't bear the weight of building Wenfeng Tower. Results Wenfeng Pagoda was finally built on Wenfeng Mountain, slightly higher than Mustard Mountain. According to folklore, since the completion of Wenfeng Tower, there has never been a capsizing incident in the Minjiang section of Zhushitan facing Wenfeng Tower. It was Wenfeng Tower that killed the monster.

About 0/00 meters away from Wenfeng Pagoda/KLOC-,there is a primitive temple, commonly known as Baita Temple. According to Qianwei County Records, Baita Temple was built in the 16th year of Qingganlong (1752). According to 1952, Qu Yongguang, then the director of Wenfeng Village Farmers' Association and now 79 years old, recalled that Baita Temple covers an area of more than one acre, with a four-water masonry structure and a tile-wood structure. There are more than 100 Bodhisattva statues in the temple, which are full of incense and destroyed in 1954.
