Liu Gudu Fugu: A Historical Story You Don't Know
During the reign of Kangxi, Fugu County was sparsely populated. Because of the small population here, the state forced a large number of people to emigrate from the populous south to the north. As a result, Du Jia was registered as Liu and Wudu Jiujia, acting as Bao, and moved from Huaishuxia, Hongtong County, Shanxi Province to Fugu Shipyard, specializing in Yellow River ferry affairs. Because the Liu family came to Fugu County very early, Fugu's name used to be Liu Jiachuan. The first generation of Liu, who came to Fugu, now lives near Majiagou, ending Hanjiawan of the Southern Livestock Company. On the second day of July, our ancestors were attacked on a boat. Every year, people in Sichuan offer sacrifices to Liu, the first generation to come to Fugu. Today, his name cannot be verified. It is said that he is an excellent trapeze. One year, a group of soldiers crossed the river in his boat. For some reason, he didn't talk to the soldiers on the boat, so he was beheaded by unscrupulous soldiers. Later, when his family buried him, they had to fake it because they couldn't find his head. Because the Liu family is very prestigious in the hearts of local people, people later lit river lanterns on the Yellow River every year on the night of Liu's ancestor's death (the second day of the seventh lunar month) to pray for peace and prosperity and never fight. Singing in the nearby Majiagou Guandi Temple to commemorate the heroic sacrifice of this rushing hero. This ritual activity has been followed for many years, and now Fugu County holds a material exchange meeting on the second day of July every year. Only through the evolution of the times has it become today's material exchange meeting. In fact, this ancient meeting has been circulated continuously because of Liu's heroic memory. The water god came from Liu's descendants and came to Fugu from generation to generation. His family business grew and he accumulated more and more wealth. Around 1820, that is, 200 years ago, Liu's descendants built a residence in Qianshiban (near the old People's Bank). It was very luxurious at that time. Siheyuan are all made of stone, and the main room and the three rooms in the east, west and south are very particular. People nearby call it Liu Jia Courtyard. It is said that when the yard was built, there was a very talented son in the yard. His parents were worried that he would get hurt when he went out, so they entrusted someone to look after him and wouldn't let him leave the Liu compound. One day, my son told his family that he was really bored at home and wanted to follow the ship carrying goods to see the scenery outside and experience the feeling of running the ship. My parents disapproved at first, but at the repeated request of this son, my parents finally agreed. Halfway through the voyage, the river suddenly narrowed and was blocked by stones falling from the mountain, leaving only a piece of water for the boat to pass through. At that time, everyone was afraid to cross the river. At this time, Liu Gongzi said that he had a way to let the crew at the back take care of the stern, so that the ship must not have a big swing, so that the crew on both sides of the ship could exert their strength evenly and keep the ship sailing in a straight line. Under the guidance of his son, the ship finally succeeded in overcoming this difficulty. With the lessons of the past, other ships have followed suit. The story of this childe spread immediately, and Liu Gongzi became famous. Later, after the death of Liu Gongzi, people honored him as the water god. Now it is enshrined in the house on the east side of Liu's courtyard. After marrying his daughter to Baode, Helu was divided into two families. I don't know which generation. When Liu was running the river course and ferry business, he had a good relationship with the family in Baode County on the other side of the river, so he married his daughter. After a few years, this family saw that Liu's business in running a river was very good, and their family began to run a river. In this way, half of the business of Liujiachuan ancient ferry, which has been controlled by Liu, was given. At that time, the Li family lived in Fugu, but they didn't engage in river transportation, just made a living by farming in the mountains. The black hole of Fugu Shipyard is a safe haven for Liu Gudu, located at the foot of Thousand Buddha Cave. In the past, Liu's ancient ferry undertook two tasks. On the one hand, it transported pedestrians between Fugu and Fugu, on the other hand, it transported Fugu's grain, salt and other goods to the north or south. At that time, the boat had to be pulled by the boatman on the shore, similar to the situation reflected in the "Tracker on the Volga River" we learned in our primary school textbooks. Under normal circumstances, there are five boatmen pulling the boat, including 1 boatman or old boatman; On the shore below the boat, there are four stalkers pulling the boat forward with ropes. At that time, Liu Gudu was very busy and someone was on duty 24 hours a day. Today's black hole is a relic of crew rest and shift. The descendants of the Liu family began to flow. The Liu family lives in Hanjiawan near the current animal husbandry company, and their household registration is: Daibao, Wudu and Jiujia. After their first generation ancestors came to Fugu, they raised four sons, and the four sons of the second generation gave birth to 10 sons. Today, their ancestors may have reached the fourteenth and fifth generations. Liu Pengfei said that the second generation and the third generation of their family came to Wayaobao near Yan 'an when they were running the river. Because Wayaobao was affected that year, there was no harvest of food. So they pulled two ships of grain from Fugu and sent them to Wayaobao for sale. They accumulated a lot of wealth by selling agricultural products and other goods by sea. So, they bought two mountains in Wayaobao and two stores, named Liujiada Store. I have lived here ever since and have never been back to Fugu. I have lived in Wayaobao until now.
