The basic structural unit of Chinese is word, which is monosyllabic and emphasizes semantics. The current Chinese character system basically conforms to the structural characteristics of Chinese, so it has been used for thousands of years without systematic reform. Chinese syllable structure is relatively simple, the number is limited, and there are many words, dozens of times more than syllables, so there are many homophones in the language. For example, the Chinese character "Chi" corresponds to a unique pinyin, but as we all know, there are quite a few homophones in Chinese. If most of them contain too many meanings, it will cause great difficulties in the memory and use of Pinyin Chinese. This is also the most powerful reason why many people oppose Pinyin. For another example, the syllable "Dan" has 13 Chinese characters, while the syllable "Yi" has as many as 9 1 Chinese characters. Once pinyin is realized, these characters originally distinguished by glyphs cannot be recognized, which is bound to bring trouble and confusion to the use of language and characters.

Secondly, according to the actual situation of Chinese characters, Chinese characters and pinyin characters also have their own shortcomings. From the stability of characters, Chinese characters are superior to pinyin, which spans time and runs through ancient and modern times; Cross-regional communication of dialects is conducive to national unity. If Chinese characters are pinyin, it will seriously hinder the exchanges between people in various regions and undermine the unity of the country.

Thirdly, China is a country with a long history, in which excellent cultural and historical traditions are recorded by Chinese characters. If we waste Chinese characters, we will interrupt our cultural and historical traditions. If this crucial problem cannot be properly solved, even if other conditions are met, the pinyin reform of Chinese characters cannot be carried out.

In fact, the greatest advantage of Chinese characters is that people in different languages (Cantonese, Wu and Northern) can communicate in words. After the pinyin of Chinese characters, assuming that Beijing pronunciation is the standard of pinyin, the written words are no longer the mother tongue of Cantonese, Wu, Huai and Jin, but a foreign language, just as French is a foreign language for Italians.

Italian and French are descendants of Latin, but today Latin is a foreign language for them. With the change of pronunciation, Latin no longer conforms to the accents of Italian, French and other Roman descendants, so these Roman descendants reproduce Latin pinyin characters according to their own pronunciation, and the result is that they can't recognize each other's words.

Fortunately, our ancestors created Chinese characters, and today we can easily read their articles. Pinyinization of Chinese characters is really a ridiculous idea. Once Chinese characters are pinyin, one problem after another will follow. I'm afraid no one can stand it then. Western languages emphasize form, while Chinese characters emphasize meaning. Once it is pinyin, Chinese characters not only lose their original forms, but also lose the forms (such as suffixes and roots) used to distinguish parts of speech, events and singular and plural numbers in western languages.
